Edit: modifying the review slightly because we got into contact with Egg Harbor management and they addressed this issue with care and in an appropriate manner. Thumbs up to management.
I've been a long time customer of the Egg Harbor Cafe, having been to the Johns Creek, Buckhead, and Sandy Spring locations several times. I've never had a bad experience here until recently, when I visited the Alpharetta location for the very first time. I'm not usually the one to complain about service, but today's experience made me feel completely disrespected as a customer. Additionally, I do not like writing long reviews, particularly reviews that finger a specific individual, but I want to leave this review here as a notice to other paying customers who come here. Our waitress did not greet us or crack a smile one bit. When ordering, I requested if I could have my shakshuka eggs cooked somewhat thoroughly, to which our waitress simply asked "hard poached?", without looking up or changing her expression. I couldn't hear what she said and replied "sorry, hard boiled?", to which she SNAPPED (with the attitude) "hard POACHED". I was so shocked that I apologized out of impulse. After she left without another word, I was a bit confused as to why I was the one who apologized. I wish that was the last negative experience during the service, but it gets worse. There were errors to the service, such as forgetting my wife's drink, and giving us the check within five minutes of us receiving our food. These would normally be forgiveable as this was on a Sunday noon, but then there are things that completely rubbed us the wrong way and even made us feel disrespected as people. Whenever my wife and I said "thank you" for whatever service she was providing, she did not respond and simply turned the other way, with the same empty expression. Whenever she brought anything to our table, whether it be the water or our check, she would likewise quickly put it down and walk away without saying a word. It also needn't be said that she did not check up on us once. An interesting thing that my wife ended up observing was that she treated the table behind us in a similar demeanor. We were of Asian descent, and so was the family behind us, however, as we were exiting the restaurant, we saw her taking orders from another Caucasian family with a smile. This is just a simple observation, and we don't mean to draw any conclusions from it. Interpret that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was my first time trying this place and I am unsatisfied with my experience at this location. We came in made a reservation they told us it would be 20-30 minute wait which was okay we were willing to wait. As we were making our reservation the hostess kept making dirty looks at me and my partner. It is extremely rude to stare at people and especially give them snarky looks. We were not greeted with a smile or respectā¦I chose to let it go because I get it sometimes working can be stressful but it is NEVER okay to take it out on your PAYING customers. We waited over 30 minutes for a table and every party who came after us was seated and these two girls who I assume were friends with some of the employees were seated right away. That is ridiculous and it is not fair to everyone else waiting. We had to tell the hostesses that we still hadnāt been seated. Food was good but we didnāt enjoy being stared at and given nasty looks by the same said hostess. We were brought our check and we left CASH+TIP on the table and as soon as we are getting in the car we get a call from this business saying we walked out without paying. We told said hostess that we left the money on the table and she put us on a hold to go check if the money was there and it was in fact on the table. Did she bother to look before calling us? or did she just assume we walked out? this is ridiculous she shouldāve done her job and checked, the money was visible and I made sure of it. Do I feel that me and my partner were treated differently because of our color of my skin or based on our appearance? Yes I do 100% Please do better next time and hire respectful and non...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy mom and I have been eager to experience Egg Harbor Cafe in Alpharetta for a while. After passing by, we promised ourselves to return. To avoid the busy weekend crowds typical of breakfast spots, we decided to take a refreshing drive from Cumming, filled with excitement. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the vibes were uplifting. Our server, Jasmin, initially seemed to be having a tough day. We sensed that she might be busy or overwhelmed. However, as we started joking and sharing smiles, Jasmin opened up, her mood lifted, and her service transformed into something truly outstanding. We are grateful to her for being so knowledgeable about the menu.
I chose the Lobster Scramble and swapped the bread for a waffle, while my mom crafted her own skillet with lemon poppy seed pancakes. However, when our food arrived, it was uncomfortably coldānot quite the experience we envisioned. After waiting for some time, we found our pancakes and waffles barely warm, and the butter didnāt melt. Despite our disappointment, we decided to keep the Egg Skillet and Lobster Scramble, not wanting to impose. But when the fresh, hot waffle and pancakes returned, they were absolutely delightful.
I truly hope Egg Harbor Cafe in Alpharetta sees this message and inspires a return visit, perhaps earlier next time, to ensure our meals are fresh and hot. Remember, no matter the hour, you'll always have customers eager to embrace the joy of dining in your exceptional establishment.
Thank you once again, Jasmin, for turning our experience into...
