Let's do a review on yesterday's bad service at 2:00 pm with an associate at the bar. I would like to issue a complaint where an associate berated and humiliated me in front of other guests.
I was the customer who came inside to take a picture of the pints because I could see that the menu was different from the store front. The other associate saw me come in and because I saw there was a 10 person limit, I believed that I was within my right to be inside the store.
Yesterday, the associate berated me with a condescending voice in front of other guests. This is completely inappropriate and out of line.
"Excuse me, nuh uh. You are not allowed here. There is a line."
I was so flustered by her condescending voice that I didn't have time to say:
"Yes, associate. I saw the line, the guest limit and THAT YOUR MENU doesn't encompass every pint flavor. May I speak to your manager for your unwelcoming persona and completely inappropriate manner of treatment in front of other guests."
All guests should be welcomed. They are the ones who are supporting a business and a brand. I thought Jeni's was more inclusive and hospitable.
Jeni's mission states that ".. we bring people together. It believes that REALLY great ice cream served perfectly in a sparkling and beautiful space, with attentive and in-the-moment service (we believe service is an art) brings people together and helps them connect. And that sometimes sparks fly. And that there should be more sparks flying, generally. We like to make people feel good."
I did NOT feel this service was an art yesterday. Neither did I feel good. Neither did I feel like any sparks were flying. The mission failed.
I came in because I was celebrating and treating my brother. I came in with my infant son. I came in excited to buy ice cream. I left flustered and very upset.
I actually wanted to not buy from your store, but my brother still wanted ice cream. I would like a refund. I will not revisit this location or buy Jeni's again.
Fortunately, this region offers a plethora of local dessert eateries who are more than willing to treat their guests with respect. Bye,...
Read moreGreat ice cream, but we won’t be back.
We went to Jeni’s tonight with a group of 10. My family of 5 with 3 little girls 7 and under, their grandparents and 3 cousins. One of which was visiting from out of town, another we were celebrating their leaving to go to college. What better than an ice cream at Jeni’s, right!?
We got our treats, and sat outside. As we finished up , it began to downpour. We stayed under the large awning for 5-10 minutes and the rain was coming in sideways. We had a couple of umbrellas and even those of us using them under the awning were still getting soaked. We finally decided we needed to take cover back inside the store.
Our family moved inside, and within a couple minutes we were quite rudely told to leave. I couldn’t believe it, and reminded them that we were paying customers that, including a 20% tip, just spent $85. They simply didn’t care and as ridiculous as it sounds, we were forced to leave and take 3 small children, one of which is particularly adverse to thunder and lightning, and head out into a heavy thunderstorm. So much for our celebration.
We left, got soaked and took cover elsewhere. At the end of the day, getting wet isn’t the end of the world, but talk about a lack of service and empathy for the situation.
I could maybe understand if we weren’t customers, the place was packed, or they had a line of people outside waiting to get ice cream and we were preventing them from coming in. None of that was the case. No one was standing outside waiting bc it was raining so hard. The wind blowing to the point a tree limb had snapped and was laying in the middle of the street impeding traffic.
Jeni’s has a great product and a long line of customers craving it. What we do as a family won’t hurt them, but for us our money and celebrations will happen elsewhere. Somewhere that values our business and doesn’t literally toss my family into the middle of a storm. There are plenty of other options nearby that I’m certain would have handled this situation in a more professional and...
Read moreService is atrocious. Such a shame as their ice cream is delicious. We have been going here almost weekly for quite some time. Last night was our last time here. We stood in the long line, as we always do, when it was finally our turn to order, an employee who was getting off shift, cut the line, ordered ice cream. Another employee scooped it out for him, he walked away. Never said excuse me or anything. The other employee never even looked at us. He went on to do some other work before he started taking orders again. This is completely unacceptable. I realize a benefit to working at an ice cream shop is leaving with ice cream at night. However, cutting off paying customers to do this is unacceptable. I would never allow this at my restaurant. Then for the employee still working to not even smile or acknowledge what happened is almost too crazy to even believe what happened. We walked out along with the couple behind us. Such a shame. We will not be back here.
What's the Scoop, just down the street is much better anyway. The guys that work there are amazing. Definitely check it out if you have not been there. Rolled ice...
