Food is still good (comfort food.) HOWEVER... while I'm used to this place being quite busy; today was different - it was more than 1/2 empty when I arrived at 10:30 this morning; I was there for just over a half hour and it was nearly empty when I left (just 3 or 4 tables.) Despite that, it took my waitress nearly 10 minutes to take my order and I practically had to beg her to do so; she never came to check on how my meal was after delivering it (though she CLEARLY was not busy) and never bothered to give me my check.
When I paid at the register, another server was given my check - over $18. for 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 sausages and coffee... REALLY?! This is ALPINE, NOT Jackson. I left NO tip - she did NOT earn it and as I see it, I was OVERcharged by at least 3 or 4 bucks.
I've been coming here as a traveler for YEARS... but based upon today's experience (yep, it only takes 1 screwup), I'm...

The diner is decked out in Americana and if you were unsure if the place supports guns, you won’t be after you walk into the building. If you have always felt French fries should be called Freedom Fries or French Toast should be called American Toast, then you are at the right place this place also felt the same way.

The omelette was decent. It was generous with ingredients but the eggs were a bit overdone, resulting in more chewy food.
Overall, if you are needing a place for breakfast and are in the area you are limited on choices and this one will get the job done. The food will be nothing to remember but you will get...

I'm a concealed carry holder and a veteran, but here's where the place loses my business: when I asked if they give veteran discounts, the waitress smugly said they only give discounts to active duty. I was pretty shocked considering right behind her there was a sign saying "land of the free because of the brave." I've been to more liberal establishments further west that proudly offer discounts to all who served and are currently serving. Apparently these people are all talk and no action. They love their country and the military, but don't really care for the veterans that actually served. I won't...
