Read moreI’ve been ordering from Sherry’s Trini Flavors consistently since I first stumbled upon it, and it has quickly become one of my favorite local gems. Every time I visit, I’m reminded why I keep coming back. The food is rooted in authentic Trinidadian flavor, and it’s clear there’s a lot of care that goes into each dish.
My absolute favorite is the beef curry and rice—hands down one of the best I’ve had. The seasoning is bold and well-balanced, the meat is tender, and every bite is packed with flavor. It’s my go-to order and never disappoints.
I also recently tried the chicken curry and rice, and while it’s decent, it just didn’t quite reach the same level as the beef. It felt like it was missing a bit of depth or seasoning that would’ve brought it to life. Still good, but not a standout for me.
Now, let’s talk about the doubles—they’re absolutely amazing. Perfectly soft bara, flavorful channa, and that signature tangy kick make them irresistible. The aloo pie, especially when paired with channa, is also fantastic—crispy on the outside, soft and seasoned on the inside.
If I had one critique, it would be the portion sizes—I often wish the servings were just a bit larger. That said, the pricing is fair and in line with the quantity and quality of the food, so no real complaints there.
Though it’s a small spot attached to a gas station with limited seating, it more than makes up for it with the exceptional service. The team is always friendly, welcoming, and fast, making every visit smooth and enjoyable.
Sherry’s is one of those places that once you try it, you’ll find yourself coming back again and again. Highly...
Read moreIf you want authenticity: don’t go here. The food is stale and mush. If you cook our food you can tell it was cooked once then laid out then forms into one big mess. However, if you want day old food this will pass and can provide something to eat when you’re extremely hungry. They do not cover the food in between customers and they share the space with gas station items. To foreign standards this is acceptable. But in America there’s no warmers under the food increasing the chance of getting a GI upset. There’s no covers over the food either. So when the two young people are over the food talking on their phones etc. then go and dish the food (without washing their hands and I know what I do with my phone so just imagine) it’s unappetizing. This is also trini-Afro base cooking. And it’s not indo based. Which could further explain why the food didn’t taste as authentic. These 5 star reviews are very biased and probably friends of the people that work here. Guyana and Trinidad are indo Caribs. Make sure it’s our people cooking our food correctly. Not some dougla attempting to cook like one of us.
Caribbean Supercenter has authenticity when it comes to making the desserts/foods specifically to our people. They have the indo-caribbeans cooking the food and baking the pastries. And you know what? It tastes exactly like how it’s...
