Spectators Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Altoona

I’ve never had a bad experience here, until today. As a household that is made up of die-hard sports fans, we love the decor and the atmosphere. The staff are usually welcoming and friendly.

I’ve been a routine customer, and have always raved about the food. However, after todays experience I may not return.

We ordered food for a table of 5 and to my surprise it was delivered to our table in less then 8 minutes (seemed almost too fast). We had pulled pork nachos- the cheese had a very off taste! It was so bad we couldn’t eat it. Seemed over cooked and pasty. It had a weird texture and seemed curdled. The pulled pork was ice cold and chewy, it was no where near hot enough. The chips were chewy, soggy, and stale. One of my children got the kids spaghetti- as our waitress handed the bowl to my child she commented on how little he received, and that it wasn’t okay. (Even though she noted he didn’t get enough, no more was ever brought). He barely had 6 bites of food in the entire bowl for nearly $8. If it weren’t for the $2 meatball we had added, we would have received the bowl nearly empty. Our other son got mac and cheese- it was completely inedible covered in the same pasty, curdled cheese that was on the nachos. Between my spouse and I, we had a brisket sandwich and a burger. Both tasted off. The brisket was chopped to tiny bits and over sauced.

Our waitress was kind and could tell we weren’t happy with the food, but was only able to take 10% off our bill, even though we left most of our food on the table untouched when we left.

After we left, we ended up going to McDonalds across the street so my children could actually have full tummies.

No one should spend nearly $80 on a meal, and...

I did not contact your former and current employees to make amends. I asked them more of the way management threats their customers and employees. Most of them did not have anything good for the management.

I am self-employed and if I treated my clients that way I'd be out of business. I take ALL my clients elsewhere and send anyone who asked to find a better place.

In response to your comments on my conduct, I have been in contact with several of your former employees and those that have actually served me at times. The response from them was not negative towards me in any way. Several times management would just walk by and not say anything or ask you if anything was wrong this is quite poor management, for those that were to take care of your customer base.

I have breakfast here every Thursday. I place the same order wheat toast two pieces of bacon and two hard eggs. When my order arrived today the eggs we're not cooked correctly. I had told our waitress about this, she reordered the eggs and they came out the same way again. I have had the same waitress place this order every week I do not believe she would have placed the...

We stopped here for a quick bite late on Saturday afternoon. The hostess was a bit snippy and not the friendliest. We waited for maybe 15-20 min for a table along with some other groups when there were open tables and then she sat everyone at those tables at once. Kind of odd. Once we got sat down, server came immediately. Food came out pretty quickly, however quality was lacking. I had the buffalo chicken wrap. No buffalo on it at all. Only a strip of chicken in it and it had tomatoes which I asked for none. It was also barely warm. After about halfway through the wrap, I found a sliver of either the toothpicks they put in the sandwich to hold together or bone or something hard. After that I was done... I'm lucky I didn't swallow it!

My parents both had burgers, they said flavor was good but again they were barely warm. My sister had the boneless buffalo wings. I tried one and the buffalo sauce was good... would have been nice in my wrap. Her wings were cold from the time they came to the table.

The server didn't come back until we were almost done and she forgot my sister's extra ranch. She had to ask for it twice.

Overall the place has a good sports bar atmosphere but the food left A LOT to be desired. I doubt...
