yikes! what a terribly, i mean awfully bland and overpriced breakfast.
my husband got a breakfast bowl and which tasted like air mush, not a dash of salt insight. it tasted like literally nothing. we added avocado which added a nice healthy air mush flavor and texture.
he also ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese, but they forgot the cream cheese.
i got the lox bagel which wasn’t as bad, at least it tasted of something, but there were precisely 6 capers (my fav part), 3 combined slivers of pickled onions and none of the promised “micro greens” so i was bummed. $14 salmon and cream cheese bagel. they just didn’t put any of the toppings on either bagel.
i also added cheese grits (tasted of nothing with melted cheese on top- seriously, elevate it with some salt or include some in the to-go, please) and a side of bacon which i actually eally liked but it was turkey bacon. i happen to like turkey bacon but i’m surprised they charge $5 for two slabs of turkey bacon and then dont advertise it as such.
2 small cappucinos- and that was the most absolutely mushie flavorless anything i ever ate. $60. without the tip
i don’t know, man- we lost our jobs to covid and went from a firmly middle class family to a family where my husband shovels rocks to feed our family for $14/hr. i’m kind of bummed that he spent 5 hours of his life working so that we could be...
Read moreIn all my years of visiting 30A, I can honestly say I’ve never had a negative dining experience until now. Unlike some of the other reviews on here, I actually thought the staff was very sweet and the service was speedy. The food, however, left much to be desired.
I found Charlie’s Cafe online while googling places I could grab gluten-free breakfast. I have celiac, so I typically have to do a decent amount of research before going out to eat. Several reviews mentioned they had gluten free toast and celiacs ate there safely, so it sounded like a great choice. When I got there this morning at around 10am, they had already run out of gluten free bread. It was a bummer, but I ordered the southern bowl because surely you can’t go wrong with cheese grits, eggs, and bacon, right?
Apparently you can. It tasted like a microwave breakfast bowl or something you’d grab at a gas station. The eggs had the texture of styrofoam and the bacon and cheese were sooo bland. I loaded it with salt and pepper and it somehow still had no taste.
For some places this could be expected, but to pay these prices for a cafe in Rosemary Beach— I was absolutely stunned. Won’t be eating here again but I do hope they’re able to improve because the location is amazing, the interior is really cute, and the latte...
Read moreFood was average brunchy food. Good, but nothing special. The area is well-kept and pretty, but the environment not so great at all. We were with our kids and one of them needed to use the restroom during our meal. Not knowing it was locked and we needed to ask for a key, we just waited a bit (assuming it was just occupied). A customer walked up after a few minutes and said, "you actually have to buy something here first" (with major arrogant attitude) and then walked away. We glanced over at the kitchen staff (who could see us there the whole time and also knew we were eating there) and then they finally offered the key. I just don't ever understand this kind of attitude. Like, no we don't look like you, we don't make our children dress in matching pastel/neutral outfits, and we would never act like you, but that doesn't mean we deserve your downwards looks and rudeness. Yes, it was another customer who was rude, but it was also the staff who disregarded us to begin with. We left the area immediately after the restaurant. Would never go to Rosemary Beach or this...
