I used to love Fazoli's just because of the concept of fast food spaghetti and it was decent taste and value. We never had one in the town that I lived in so I always enjoyed visiting the Amarillo location and various ones in Arizona and Indiana that I encountered. The Amarillo one was always my favorite because it was the first one I ever went to. It wasn't even that bad the first time I came here in this trip but the next couple of times were disappointing.
For whatever reason they no longer have the employee walking around handing out bread sticks to people while they wait for their food. That was one of the most fun things about coming here. And the breadsticks you do get don't have that fresh baked soft yeasty flavor and texture that they always had in the past. And they don't offer you any extras to take home with your leftovers like they used to. A little thing like that can leave an impression that makes you want to come back to the place over and over. It just seems like the quality has been going down and the perks have disappeared.
I was just there again a couple days ago because I wanted a inexpensive meal and had a craving for pasta. I tried something different from usual, a combination plate. Basically it was served lukewarm, nearly room temperature. There were no breadsticks ahead of time although they did give me three rather than the usual two when I picked up my plate. Maybe they give you more when you order the combination instead of a single spaghetti plate. The breadsticks themselves were disappointing also. Instead of tasting fresh-baked and being piping-hot so much you had to watch out you didn't burn your fingers, they were a rather dry texture and not very warm and I had the feeling maybe they just made him up in advance and put them in the microwave. You can always tell when something has been nuked because it comes out with a tough chewy texture and that's what these had.
The last time I came here I told myself I wasn't going to come back, at least not this trip. I can't say my visit here a couple days ago did anything to change that impression. For just a couple dollars more I could have gone to the Olive Garden and gotten their $9.99 all-you-can-eat spaghetti. I did that once before and was only able to eat one bowl of spaghetti but they gave me one to take home so I had a whole meal for the next day plus they were generous with their breadsticks.
There was a time when I would have said Italian restaurants should take a tip from Fazoli's breadsticks but now I think it's the...
Read moreOrdered online on Thursday, January 14th around 7pm. Arrived at 7:30 to find the location closed, with tacky paper signs hung on the door and drive thru to let customers know they were closed. Amazingly, there's no customer service number available on their website, or on any store window decals. The only number listed, is a now defunct 1-800 number. I had to call multiple other locations within Texas, to attempt to reach a regional manager. I was reached out to by Angie after 8pm. I was assured that this was a one off thing, that mine was the only order to accidentally get through. They told me a refund would be issued in the morning, and that I was out of my $50 for the night. Amazingly, on Friday, I received an email that was addressed to the wrong person, contained the wrong order info, and wrong card information. They refunded a completely different person. I was then guaranteed that the bill had been adjusted to $0 and that I would receive my refund soon. It is now Sunday, the 17th. My transaction has fully posted, and is no longer pending. The store itself has told me there is nothing they can do until Tuesday, because online orders are handled by the "front office". I am still out my $50, and there is no one to contact. At this point, I feel like I have been repeatedly lied to and I feel as if I've been stolen from. This is the most ridiculous, and unprofessional experience I've had from a restaurant. I am absolutely disgusted.
Edit; this issue has not been resolved as of January 19th, 5 days after. Will remove this once it has...
Read moreFood was great, clean restaurant and very nice cashier. But as soon as we walked up to the counter the manager (shiny bowling ball head) walked out of his office and into the kitchen and started yelling at this poor lady standing in the doorway about some breadsticks not being put into the oven. First off I want to say from a managers perspective you should NEVER EVER talk to your employees the way that man talked to that poor lady. It’s hard enough getting people to work as it is. Maybe you should consider hiring better managers that actually respect your employees. I was very sad for her. All I could hear her say was “Yes sir” over and over with fear in her voice. Absolutely unnecessary. Took everything I had to keep my mouth shut. How embarrassing for her!!!! We are all just out here trying to make a living. Please fix this. And again it was In front of customers and employees. And from what I understand yelling at your employees is definitely looked down...
