We ordered a chicken entree and a New York strip entree cooked well done. We live about 20 minutes from the location, so my husband went to pick up our order. When he returned home, he cut into his steak, and it was cooked to medium, at best. It was very bloody in the center. He called to speak with the manager (we think his name is Dallas but are not certain), and the he suggested my husband put the steak in the microwave or stove to get it cooked to his liking. After my husband laughed at his suggestion, the manager said he could either drive across town and get another one or cook it himself. The manager then told my husband he would give him a 15% discount next time we went to Steak Express. He ended up driving back across town to bring his food back. When he got there, they had cooked another steak, but he did not want it. He asked for a refund, and the manager said he couldn't refund his money. My husband was furious at this point and demanded a refund. The manager finally gave him back $16 cash for his meal. While my husband was driving home, the manager called my cell phone, the number I ordered from. He explained that he was the one at fault (obviously) for the order mishap and that he accidentally refunded our card and gave my husband $16 cash for the refund of the meal. He then had the audacity to ask us to drive back over "If we're in the area tomorrow because we've gone through too much tonight," and give him the $16 back. I talked to him in a very respectful tone, never even raising my voice, and I let him know that there is no chance of that happening. "There is no way after everything that happened my husband will be driving back over there to give you money for a mistake you made," I said. I proceeded to tell him that this is no way to run a business and that this is hands down the worst experience we've ever had at an eatery. Then comes the icing on the cake, he hung up on me. Needless to say, we will never...
Read moreI eat there all the time, but after my last experience, I'm pretty much done. I would've just let it go but the no communication, after bad service really put a bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended. I got a steak ordered medium/well and what I received was a cold uncooked gelatinous raw steak only browned on the very outside. I called and they asked me to hold and put me on hold before I could say anything. When I filled the complaint seconds after on the SE site, no one so much as contacted me, and it seemed to go no where. I sent a message on messenger, and it was automated and wanted me to call some number. I hate any communication where they can say whatever and there's just no log or document showing what REALLY was said. I basically had to crank up the oven, and cook the steak myself. Service is really poor and it's just not worth my effort to keep putting time into trying to let someone know so they might at least acknowledge something was wrong, and improve. I've only given one other bad review on Google to one other place ever! for future reference, when a customer reaches out to you, don't effin ignore them, try to at least talk to them. I've always had good experiences, but I just can't let it go. Talk to...
Read moreI Went to steak express on my lunch break and got the steak tips lunch special and a tea. I came back to work and finished my meal and soon after my tea, I opened my cup up to eat the ice when I realized there was a sandwich bag or piece of saran wrap in my cup. I called the steak express and Elecia V. answered the phone when I asked to speak to the manager the same lady said “how can I help you”, I explained my problem and her response was “we don’t have any bag in our store give me a second”. She then proceeded to go get the real manager, and after me telling her the same story she said “we don’t know how that could have made it to you like that, someone had to put the ice and the tea in there but I can give you a discount on your next order.”
My complaint is the way that the employees at steak express Amarillo handled the situation, they were careless and to me insinuating that I was lying. The whole thing is BEYOND DISCUSTING I drank your tea that had some sort of plastic in it and lord only knows what was in that plastic before it was in my drink so the least you could do is have a little more compassion for the whole situation when I...
