It’s a shame to be in a small town and chose to make enemies instead of contributing to the community. “How can you make enemies running a sandwich shop/deli?” one might ask. Well ask the owner, because Julia (?) perfected this art.
Their hours are strange and inconsistent. My only time in, I was the only customer, was reading the menu on the wall behind the counter and got snapped at when I wasn’t ready to immediately order. The whole staff is abysmal to their customers and townsfolk alike. Any opportunity to be rude or callous is taken.
Against my warnings, my coworker went at 2:30pm knowing they close at 3pm and was denied service. Not in a regular way where you say “oh sorry we’re closed,” but just out right ignored entirely.
I experienced a lousy situation in their parking. Due to a torrential ice storm that left the entire town powerless for a week, I was pressed to find a safe place to park my car. Parking on Friday afternoon in Ambler is tight, so there were no spots to be found in a block radius. Julia’s has signs posted that their spots are for customers only. I did indeed try to give Julia’s service after running into KC’s Alley to retrieve my left behind credit card. Within MINUTES Julia’s had a boot on my car. And I was not the only one. The man who had be charged with the task of booting both of our cars explained that Julia’s specifically got an ATM machine to for the people who’s car they get booted or towed. I was charged $120 for a few minutes. Which feels illegal
All this time with their terrible customer service, weird hours, and their inconsistency to actually accept the business they’re given I could only speculate on how they could stay in business. Now I know how: being in with the garage next store to rip off people! Groovy.
They are not good and they are not good for the community. I’ve had far better sandwiches and service at Rich’s deli, and Philly’s Phamous. Or go to costa’s. Just don’t go to Julia’s. It’s not worth your time, energy or money. Not for one of their...
Read moreI've been ordering food from Julia's for close to three years now. I've finally had it. It's not worth it. First of all, I've experienced all the other complaints left by other reviewers at one point or another. However, I've always let it slide. Today, I walked in at 1:45 and I was told the grills off. Mind you, they close at 4:30. The employees make me sick. No explanation or apology, you kind of get the , "our grills off two and a half hours early, now leave" vibe. It's no wonder he's shutting off the grill 2 and a half hours early. Customers are probably sick of the Bs so there's no business....
Read moreIn addition to the lukewarm coffee, questionable food and poor service we have gotten in the past, we were just turned away at the door at 3:52 when their door says open until 4 because we wanted some deli cheese we figured even they could not screw up. The gentleman working didn't even speak to me, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked out the backdoor 8 minutes early. You will notice from their extremely limited hours that people are not jumping at the chance to go here, follow suit because they are not even open when you are at their door to give...
