I was not going write a review after my past first time experience a bit ago as everything was absolutely perfect (top notch service, beautiful dishes both presentation and taste, and overall stunning and quality vibes) but my one issue was with the hostess who was there at my first visit. Not sure what her name was or what her problem was but she had black curly hair and a major bad attitude! Tried to just ignore it but it definitely had an impact one our first impression.
We decided to return recently a few days ago and boy was my whole group absolutely stunned. We were in a food coma by the end of the night! We were greeted by a new hostess (thank god) and she had blonde hair and i believe blue eyes and was wearing a black top. She was so kind, generous, warm and welcoming and really set up the entire energy and vibe for the night. She put a smile on everyone’s faces! Our server though I can’t remember her name, was incredible. Explained everything perfectly so we knew what to expect, and gave amazing recommendations. She was a real treat! The owner was also excellent, organized and so friendly and warming. you can truly tell that all the staff are not just there to make money, but they are there to provide a happy night and incredible experience and impression.
Lastly the food… oh my where do i start! From the seaweed salad, the pumpkin tempura, miso soup all acting as a warm divine explosion in my mouth to the Ambler love roll the hatsu roll and the spider roll, to the green tea panna cotta each bite was a step closer to heaven. i was levitating. They also have a super cool interactive sushi bar! I cannot recommend sushi hatsu enough. they will make your year and leave you re thinking the...
Read moreDisappointed and underwhelmed to say the least. I came from NJ with some folks who are also big sushi lovers and we all left rather disappointed.
I really wanted to like Sushi Hatsu, I have been twice, but unfortunately, it fell short in several areas just as it did the last time. From the minute we walked in with the rude person up front with that awful stare, to the confusing service and the food which was just meh. Very mediocre and the menu did not change. After the first few rounds, everything started tasting boring and there wasn’t much that stood out. Definitely not what I expected for the price. The service was just... confusing. We had at least 3 different servers bringing things out at random times, which made the whole experience feel disorganized. It wasn’t necessarily bad service, but it was chaotic and didn’t feel well managed. (However kudos to Shane as we had him the last time and he was amazing. A great entertainer) What set us up for a rough experience started at the front desk. When you first walk in that should in no way be your first impression of how the night was going to go. Crazy how one thing can ruin it all. The person at the desk seemed completely uninterested in anyone’s arrival. They didn’t smile, and made us feel like we were an inconvenience just for walking in. You could immediately tell from their face. Honestly, it was downright rude, and that set a really uncomfortable tone for the rest of the night. Overall, the place lacks warmth and consistency both in food and service. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you're looking for a welcoming dining experience or memorable sushi. Also felt quite rushed out but i...
Read moreWow! Don’t waste your time going anywhere else for sushi but Sushi Hatsu. Plus it is BYOB!! The quality of the fish is unbelievably fresh and tastes as though it just came from the sea. I highly recommend starting with the chefs special sashimi or sushi selection to sample their staple fish and special fish of the day. The menu is incredibly fun and you can try dishes you won’t find anywhere else like the “surf and turf” which is a role with tempura fried lobster and thin strips of beef on top. The quality and texture of the fish in every dish is truly unbelievable and even the quality of the seaweed in the roles is to be marveled at. The seaweed is so soft you don’t have to struggle bitting it and the roles are filled with considerably more fish than rice. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of the fish and it allows you to really explore the menu. The staff here are some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in a restaurant. The lady at the front of the house was so charming and knowledgeable and made recommendations so that we could try the best from the menu. Our waiter was a lot of fun and joked with us and made us feel right at home. We were able to take our time and order more items while enjoying our wine since it is BYOB!! We even got to talk to the sushi chef as our table was close to the counter and he wanted to ensure we were enjoying our meal. You can watch them make the beautiful plates with such love. You can make a reservation online and I have a feeling we will be making recurring...
