Usually pretty good store to shop at. However, today was an ABSOLUTE JOKE. I went to self checkout to purchase my items along with a 12 pack of beer.
The lady helping us out had NO clue what she was doing and struggled with entering my VALID UTAH STATE ID INFORMATION. Eventually she gets it to work. Throughout all of this, I was very patient and understanding. We even had some small talk and it seemed like no big deal.
After we finish scanning ALL OUR ITEMS she comes back up to us stating she cannot sell me the beer because my ID is showing in the system as underage. I was born August of 2000.. I understand I look younger but both of us had VALID OF AGE ID’S THAT ARE NOT EXPIRED.
She refused to scan my ID, or give me a real explanation on why she couldn’t sell it to me. so I’m VERY frustrated as she has already wasted 10 minutes of my time messing with the system. So I give up and tell her I’ll go to another store for my beer. In the process of her removing it from the order she REMOVED ALL MY ITEMS and I had to RESCAN EVERYTHING.
Oh and to add to it- I went directly over to the State Liquor store and had ZERO issues with EITHER of our ID’s. I feel like this situation was 100% stereotyping as I look young, my appearance and tattoos. This put a VERY sour taste in my mouth as I have purchased alcohol here SEVERAL times with ease. Read moreI used to go shopping at Macey's, and I was pleased with the prices, weekly advertisements, and customer service. That is no longer the case. Their overpriced, the weekly ads are a bad joke, and, much to my disappointment, the customer service is poor. I recently went shopping at Macey's to use a couple of digital coupons, and the attending checker and supervisor were utterly clueless. It was pathetic. One would think their employees would be trained about what and how their digital coupons and website functioned, but it is painfully clear that is not a priority for Macey's. They try to offer similar services as Smith's, but they fail miserably. I recommend Smith's because they have better prices and advertisements. Most of all, every checker and supervisor has a working knowledge about how their website and digital coupons function.
11-15-23 I wanted to update this post with a brief story. I was contacted personally by a representative of Macey's, and they wanted to discuss my concerns. I replied with TWO separate emails, and they never responded. I've lost all hope in Macey's....
Read moreI hate writing reviews like this and I hope it was an abnormality however I am with a service animal, though many people lie about service animals, my service dog is professionally trained and passed her public access test in 2020. We are never separated and she is incredibly well behaved. With that being said there were THREE workers who either talked to, tried to pet, and or asked personal questions about my “pet”. Not questioning her being there but just out of curiosity I guess personal questions of what she does and how she does it? I also had three shoppers comment on her being there which did not help my attitude but to have workers be so disrespectful to my service dog and I was incredibly unprofessional & flat out rude. I have never experienced such inappropriate behavior from workers in any grocery store or frankly anywhere else.
