One of the best experiences I have ever had with a restaurant for catering orders!
I regularly place large orders for a class I manage here at UMass Amherst! I have never had such a seamless and beautiful experience! I am sitting here writing one of the only reviews I have ever written in my life, because I just felt I needed to share the experience! WOW!
I arrived a few minutes early to pay and the bring out the food, Hot and ready to go! Everything was labeled and ready to go! The gentleman working the register was the most kind soul, offering to load it in my car and he even offered a free dessert and drink for me!
What an amazing business and more than anything, what amazing people!
I am at a lack of words to more accurately describe this experience, but I will just leave it at delicious and extraordinary! 100000/10 experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
(The photo does not do it justice, this was just some of the delicious, huge portioned, well labeled food! Oh and the price 🤯out of this...
Read moreSmall is the size of the restaurant, certainly not the size of the portions. Delicious is everything I and my wife have had there. The restaurant is owned and run by a Syrian Christian couple who make some of the best Middle Eastern food I have had. They do a great takeout business partly because of the modest size of the place, but largely because their pockets are large, scrumptious and varied ... try a chicken caesar pocket for a change of pace.
I would also note that the meals are prepared very expeditiously and that the proprietors are remarkably warm and friendly. They will often throw in an extra something like a stuffed grape leaf.
It is a bit difficult to locate, but well worth the effort. You can head down Kellogg Street from North Pleasant and make your first right into a section occupied by Panda East, Rao's coffee and others. In the same strip with Panda East, closer to Pleasant St. Is Pita...

They won't even make the baba at all if they can't find super fresh eggplant without a hint of bitterness, and it has such a delicious roasted flavor.
And the service is amazing. Not always fast if there is a crowd, but Yousif and his family treat everyone who comes through the door like family. He peppers his customers with friendly greetings and falafel samples. He remembers peoples orders and names surprisingly well, and will ask about your friends and family once you've been there a few times. He is very generous and often gives regulars (and often others too) free little treats such as grape leaves or baklava. I always come out of Pita Pockets...
