The Toy Box — Local services in Amherst

Discovered this wonderful little spot after having dinner next door. As soon as I stepped in I was really impressed at how interesting all the items were. So many things that I haven't seen before. The owner does an amazing job curating such cool toys and the layout just made to want to explore every nook to find the next cool thing. They even have a little dress up alcove which was my favorite area. We were up there for a weekend lacrosse tournament at UMass. I even delayed our drive back home the next day to wait for them to open and went for another visit.. Prices were surprisingly fair for the quality items they carried, and the owner and staff were extremely kind and friendly. I've been to a lot of independently owned toy stores, one of my favorites in my state is World of Mirth in Richmond, VA, but this is my favorite one so far. This is a great local toy store. They hand wrap any gifts you purchase for free. The gift wrapping is exquisite. The staff is very friendly, and go out of their way to help you find the right toy, wheter you are looking to purchase a gift for a child or something new to play with for the family. They let children explore their toy store with their hands on child friendly environment. As an adult, I enjoy this store almost as much as my child with all the interesting toys they have to explore. Their toys are also affordable, and they have an amazing selection. The worker I encountered today, I believe her name was Paige, was so helpful and so genuinely kind. She helped me find a Jellycat I’ve been searching for and really was engaged with hearing what I had to say about the Jelly’s. Such a nice human that needs recognition!
