Came up for the Anacortes street fair and we decided to eat here - and thank GOD we did. The pizza I had here was hands-down, the ABSOLUTE BEST pizza I've ever had in my life. EVER. And trust me, I've had my share of pizza.
I had the Huka Huka, which was made with chicken, pineapple, red onion, loaded with cheese, and BBQ sauce in place of marinara. All their pizzas have a pan made crust, but they throw a little extra lovin' into that crust by putting toasted cheese on the edge. And just the right amount of it. They have beer on tap, which includes a pineapple summer beer, and a coconut porter, which I tried. It was SO GOOD, not bitter, and the coconut was very subtle. Best part? It's the only place you can get the coconut porter! I felt slightly special...
The rest of the group ordered a pepperoni and olive pizza, which they were super generous with toppings, as well as the Beach House salad, and the Baja salad. The salads are huge, the dressing automatically comes on the side, and what I thought was just the best feature of the salads was how fresh they were. I mean, every single leaf, veggie, crouton, you name it was something you'd see on a commercial trying to lure you in.
But wait! There's more!
The service was just outstanding! Our waiter was just so sweet, kind, and attentive. Seeing how the Mariners game was just starting, he was kind enough to put it on both TVs and turn up the volume full blast for us - earning him a generous tip!
Great atmosphere, great people and service, and out of this world pizza makes this my #1 favorite pizza joint without a doubt. My only concern? How long do I have to wait until one opens...
Read moreI was surprisingly shocked how good their pizzas are. I got the Wednesday special, Waikiki 7". Pizza had great flavor and crust. The top had crisped cheese which I've never had a layer of crispy cheese on a pizza but wow it definitely added to the texture and taste. This pizza was just over $7 after tax. Oh and crust isn't too thick nor dry yet it isn't floppy soggy, it is how I like it.
On Friday I tried their Bar-B-Q Killer Sandwich, it has their kalua pork and bbq sauce, it was also really good but think it should have more on it such as cheese and maybe a little grilled bell peppers. I ordered a whole and did ask for extra bbq sauce which I highly suggest you to do as they didn't put much on this to begin with. This sandwich, not on a deal at all, was about $13.
The lady did tell me that these sandwiches are $6 every Monday as well as all February long.
I will be definitely going back to try other pizzas as well as sandwiches, great flavor. Kalua pork has a great taste but realize it is still no true Kalua pork as it requires the hog to be cooked in an imu but still Coconut Kenny G's has...
Read moreUpdate October 2018 WTHeck?? After 8pm they only sell "to go"!!?? 8:15, and we have to sit in our car and eat!!! The place was empty! (No surprise!). HOW MUCH WORK WOULD IT BE TO LEAVE ONE ROW OF TABLES OPEN FOR DINING?? How much mess are they expecting??!? They close at NINE! We were done by 8:45!! How much work would it have taken the kid to wipe down our table!!? Not exactly warm out!
VERY DISCOURAGING! We will look for different dining in the evening for sure!
. UPDATE. *
We love their Big Kahuna pizza. Thick, crispy crust. All the meat basic food groups.
Convenient location, just a short block off the road to the ferry. No more pining away for food while in the ferry line. We will call ahead, zip in and pick it up, and be off to the ferry.
Suggestion for owner: see if you can get approval from the city to make one or two of the parking spots on the street in front 15 minute parking so ferry riders can zip in and out.
We loved the CK in Bellingham and we look forward to using the Anacortes...
