Good Food - Disappointing Service

My family has come here usually once or twice a month the entire time we've lived in Anacortes and their food is excellent. Recently though their service has left a lot to be desired. I ordered food on the phone and was told that it would be ready in about 25 minutes. When I arrived I walked in and went to the counter. There were seven people working in the store and for over ten minutes not a single one of them greeted me (despite being the only customer in the store). I stood right at the register and asked about my order and they wouldn't stop boxing to-go orders for long enough to turn around and acknowledge me, much less give me the food I had ordered.

Finally, after ten minutes, someone came out from the back and asked what I wanted. Not really a greeting but at that point I'll take it. Finally got my one box of food and left. I don't think we will be coming back until they improve their service. A mere greeting and someone informing me that they were busy but would be ready in ten minutes would have been enough for me, but I've never been totally ignored as a paying customer walking into a restaurant the...

Best Teriyaki in Anacortes!!!! These guys do it right! Their food tastes amazing, their customer service is FANTASTIC, and never once have I walked in without being greeted with a smile. Their menu options are extensive, and the fact that you can order certain meals in a large size is perfect. (Some times a guy wants to EAT, and here, they accommodate that with their portion sizes) I was just in there 3/9/17, I made a To-Go order, and I decided to wait in my car. Not only did they make our food quickly, they even brought it out to the car! Talk about great service!!! Their remodel has the restaurant looking fantastic, and the ONLY time their service is slow is when they are PACKED with customers and phone orders. And when you think about it, that's hardly a complaint. Because that means so many people want their food at the same time that they can't keep up with the demand!!! Let's face it: there are two Teriyaki places in Anacortes so they swap the #1 spot pretty regularly. After an intollerary long wait at the 'other' place last week (after phoning in an order 20-min ahead of time), we decided to try the slick on-line ordering system for Teriyaki Time - giving them the same 20-min advance notice. LOVED the online menu! So many choices! Current prices (good to know). Easy 5 minutes to wait in-store, but our order was right and food piping hot. Teriyaki Chicken - ample portions, 50¢ less than the other place; UDON noodle soup! Who makes that anymore? They do and it was great - loaded with chicken and noodles and maybe MSG (Uncle Roger would approve.) Dad was overseeing the friendly and efficient staff.
