4.5 - I've tried pizza in many types of restaurants, in many states, and internationally. This little shop way up in the NW has great pie, and for the most part 3 of the staff were really pleasant / helpful.
I ordered online, sm pizza, mushrooms, and black olives. Apparently the online system only conveyed a small cheese pizza. They were going to re-make it, but plain cheese is a second best option to me, so they offered to send the toppings through the oven, separately, then distribute them on the pizza... I accepted that good option.
The mushrooms are real, not canned! Glad I got them.
The crust is chewy (which I like) and bottom is thin but not crunchy. The crust is sturdy, holds the toppings, not drooping down, but not scary stiff. Pizza bones (outermost edge of the pie) were chewy and slightly bready, in a good way, not over proofed leaving cavernous bubbles.
The sauce was tasty, the cheese was just salty enough.
I'm happy they offered to correct the order. The pizza was otherwise lovely. The only small change/improvement I would make, the cheese was not very melty, it didn't stretch making long cheese strings after you bite in. I don't know if this is a low fat or part-skim cheese that would contribute...
Read moreI'm the kind of person who enjoys Pizza Hut, Papa John's, and other chains while also having an adoration for pizza from both Chicago and New York. Suffice it to say, I love pizza, even the occasional frozen. When I saw the reviews for this place and the sign out front claiming it was the best pizza in the county, I had some expectations. Honestly, this was probably the worst pizza I've had in a very long time. The cheese on top was oddly chalky while also rubbery, the alfredo sauce was an off flavor while also being runny and pasty. My friends ordered pasta and had similar complaints. In all fairness, the pizza dough itself was quite good, but everything else needs better quality in ingredients. In addition, I want to also give my compliments to the staff for being so friendly, but I do not recommend...
Read moreOn a cross country trip and we're 3 weeks in. Headed for bad weather so we're hanging out in a motel for the night. We walked around the corner into this lil pizza joint... Had good reviews on google. We were the only customers in the place, they have 5 employees up front.. ordered a meatball sandwich and small chicken Alfredo pizza. Fast forward 20 mins, sandwich comes out.. flat, kinda like subway but nicer bread.. can't see the meatballs.. tastes ok at best. 30 mins in, my pizza shows up.. holy bland... Talk about grilled chicken slices out of a bag, not seasoned, thrown on some crust with a dab of Alfredo and some mozz. I've had better pizza out of a bag.. totinos anyone??? Haha. Honestly tho, I'm not sure if this is how the west coast does pizza or what.. but you're...
