Fidalgo Drive-In — Restaurant in Anacortes

The fish and chips was ok but the clam chowder that came with it was Ivars. I was expecting a house-made chowder, that is why I like trying small local restaurants like this, not to get canned commercial clam chowder. I was also disappointed in the fact I paid $15 for 2 piece fish and chips and asked for lots of ketchup and only ketchup for the fish and fries and I only got one packet of ketchup. Ketchup is cheap, come on. It was enough for one piece of fish and I ended up not eating the fries because I didn't have anything to dip them in. Also the parking lot is horrible. I pulled into a covered spot but couldn't order from my car because the order button was on the passenger side of my car so I moved and went inside to order. While I was eating in my car there were two near accidents. I probably won't be going back.

My response to the owner's response: sorry if my honesty hurt your feelings. Good business owners would take negative feedback to heart and address the problem instead of insulting their (former) customer. Here is some more honesty: you have signs posted all over by your cashier indicating you charge 50 cents for extra sauce. Obviously if ketchup is free you failed to train your employees on what to do when someone asks for extra ketchup since I was only given one. To all potential customers who are looking at this review and response do yourself a favor and take the owner's advice to eat at one of the neighboring restaurants. Was driving through town and decided to stop here for a bite. I saw they had a crab sandwichch but couldn't find it on the menu, the server told me it was 20 bucks and that's why it wasn't on the menu.

20 bucks is a lot of money for a sandwich that comes with no sides, but I decided to try it because I really like crab, I wanted to taste this magical sandwich myself and I am clearly lacking in solid judgment.

They are charging 17 dollars more for this sandwich then they should. It is served on ciabatta bread, which gives it the appearance of a hearty sandwich, but it's not. It's just a bready sandwich. There is a minuscule amount of crab, I had to take it apart, and lift up the lettuce and tomato to find the crab. This sandwich is the biggest scam. There is no flavour, it's just bland and overpriced. If you are going to charge this much for a sandwich, make sure it's magical or at least doesn't totally suck.

Yes, I realize I didn't have to order it, especially since I knew the price. I took one for the team so now none of you have to waste your money, you're welcome.

We ordered fries to split and they were shitty. Who messes up fries?? They weren't crispy or hot.

When I asked the server if the crab was real, she didn't know. When. I asked what was on the sandwich, she didn't know. She did find out that lettuce and tomato were on the sandwich but not about the state of the crab. If you are going to have a pricey item on the menu your staff should know what is on it, if the ingredients are fresh, and how it is made.
