Stopped by yesterday afternoon and had no trouble finding parking in the structure, there’s designated parking for the restaurants, and if you’re quick, you may not need to pay. The location was easy to find, and the interior is a small, casual poke bar with a few tables.
Ingredients were decent, though the portion sizes were on the smaller side compared to other spots with similar pricing. I really enjoyed the sauces, especially the spicy ponzu, which was packed with flavor. We also ordered drinks: I had the matcha latte and my partner got the pomegranate tea. Both were a bit too sweet, but still tasty.
However, after visiting and reading through other reviews, I felt uneasy, not just as a customer, but as a fellow business owner. Multiple reviewers have mentioned concerns about how tipping is handled here, with suggestions that the tips may not be going directly to staff. If true, that’s incredibly disappointing and raises ethical concerns. Businesses should always prioritize fairness and transparency when it comes to supporting their employees.
Overall, it’s a chill spot with solid flavors, but the portion sizes and potential behind-the-scenes practices make me hesitant to return. (Edit: Raised from 3 to 4 stars for the owner taking accountability and clarifying the situation that...
Read moreBay Poké in Anaheim delivers fresh, vibrant flavors in a casual, modern setting that’s perfect for a quick lunch or a healthy dinner. Their signature bowls showcase a colorful array of ingredients — from tender cuts of salmon and tuna to crisp veggies and creative toppings like spicy crab and crispy onions. The sauces are a definite highlight, especially the creamy sriracha and ponzu, which bring bold flavor without overpowering the fish.
The staff is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming. Everything tastes thoughtfully prepared and well-balanced, and there’s a good variety of proteins, bases, and add-ons to customize your bowl exactly how you like it.
That said, the to-go portions could be more generous. While the quality is spot-on, the serving sizes sometimes feel just a bit too light, especially when compared to other poké spots in the area. A fuller bowl would go a long way in matching the value to the flavor.
Overall, Bay Poké is a reliable go-to for fresh, tasty poké in Anaheim. Just don’t be surprised if you’re left wishing for a little more in your to-go container. Still, it’s worth a visit for the quality and care they put...
Read more10/30/204 EDIT: I'm glad the owner replied to my review! We decided to give this place another shot and can gladly say it can be our go-to poke bowl place at work again. :) it has greatly improved under the new ownership! It's a lot cleaner and you can tell the new owners care.
There are new menu items that look tasty (we didn't try them this time), there's no surcharge on salmon (thank God), and the inside of the restaurant looks so much cleaner. Thank you!!
OLD REVIEW: I used to love this place and it was my go-to poke bowl restaurant, but they recently added a $3.50 surcharge per scoop for salmon and spicy salmon that is just not okay. I understand that the economy is awful right now and prices are going up, but that's just ridiculous to me.
If they remove the surcharge I'll go back to Bay Poke, but for now i don't think I can eat here anymore... :( I always get full salmon and with the surcharge that makes my $15 bowl turn into $22....
