🔥 Title: 3 Confirmations, 2 Phone Calls, $1 Refund – Never Again

I’ve ordered from Munch Thai many times — 🍱 4 boxes of potstickers and extra sauce for my family. This time, I ordered 4 sauces (25¢ each) to keep the total just under $45.

I made it crystal clear THREE times that I needed potsticker sauce:

1️⃣ I told the first employee. 2️⃣ He didn’t know how to charge me, so he brought out Fernando. 3️⃣ Fernando asked me directly: “Potsticker or dumpling sauce?” I said: “Potsticker.” ✅ He confirmed it and rang me up.

Then — as I was walking out the door — I asked one last time:

“The sauces are in the bag, right?” Fernando: “Yes, it’s all in there.” 🧾✅

I got home. No separate sauce bag. So I thought maybe they tucked them inside the boxes.

🔍 I opened them one by one: • Box 1 — ❌ • Box 2 — ❌ • Box 3 — ❌ • Box 4 — ❌

No sauce. Anywhere. 🤯

⸻

📞 Two Phone Calls

📍 First call – 7:30 PM: I called immediately. Fernando — the same guy who just helped me — answered and said:

“Did you maybe drop them in your car?” 🤦‍♂️ “When did you order?”

I literally said:

“Dude, you rang me up 20 minutes ago. You asked me what sauce I wanted.”

Still — no apology. Just gaslighting.

⸻

📍 Second call – 9:45 PM: Still no email. No callback. So I followed up before they closed.

I said:

“Fernando, I confirmed my sauce 3 times. You even asked me which kind. Now you’re offering me a $1 refund and that’s it?” 💸

I told him:

“There are better ways to handle this. Say you’re sorry. Offer to remake it. Deliver it. Show me my order mattered.” 😤

His response?

“Yeah… okay… sounds good.” 🙄

No resolution. No accountability. No follow-up. No manager. No apology. Just indifference.

⸻

📉 What They Lost

💰 $45 per order 📆 Once a week = $2,340/year 📆 Twice a week = $4,680/year 🗓️ Over 5 years = $11,700 – $23,400 in lost business

All because of $1 worth of sauce — and a refusal to take responsibility.

⸻

🚫 Final Verdict

This wasn’t about sauce. It was about basic service, respect, and trust.

I was clear 3 times. I followed up 2 times. I gave them every chance. They gave me silence.

🥢 I’ll be making potstickers at home from now on — because at least I know how to get the sauce right.

FYI - If you like to order ahead, you can download their MUNCH app and get a one time free 10 small pieces of potstickers order worth $10 (but know that you’ll have to pay 5% fees for using their app).

I ordered takeout using app for first time and it was easy to order and pay w Apple Pay. You get a text when you’ve ordered and can track the progress in the app. You get another text when order is ready for pickup. You even get a text afterwards to check on your order and food satisfaction (sounds like someone is truly texting for feedback which I appreciated bc overall my food was OK but the beef and broccoli dish in particular was just horribly salty and overcooked we couldn’t quite eat it— and whoever texted seemed to appreciate the fact that I told them of this issue).

It wasn’t too busy so my food was ready in 15 mins. Parking lot was not busy and it’s shared with other shops on the strip. Inside had a few small number of tables for dine in if you prefer.

As for the FOOD

POTSTICKERS - decent - inside contents were tasty but as per usual the edges are too dry CHICKEN YELLOW CURRY - 3/5 - decent - lots of sauce though I could use some more pallid content PAD SEE EW - good! 4/5 tasty - They do charge a baseline EGG FEE (passed on to customer**) CRAB FRIED RICE - 4/5 rice was good too - but also you get charged for the egg that should be part of the ingredients :( BROCCOLI w BEEF (you have to pay $3.19 extra for beef) - but this one was the worst dish of them all — beef was so overcooked it didn’t taste like beef at all (unclear how it is marinated bc this is inconsistent with any other beef in the other dishes I ordered— in fact, it was SOOOO SALTY it was difficult to eat at all. The food QA is definitely missing here). Normally this is sautéed broccoli but this seemed like stewed and steamed and sitting for a long while… not great at all. CHICKEN SATAY - 3/5 - this was alright. Chicken on the skinny side. The peanut sauce was good.

Customer Service / friendliness factor - 5/5.

I prob will order again but will stay away from the beef and broccoli dish unless they can refine how...

Love Munch Thai!

Food-wise, things are terrific. They have standard Thai food options here including vegan options. What I've eaten here:

+Tom Yum / Tom Kah: I've had both of these are they're both delicious in hot pot form. Love the way they cook these on a neat metal, fancy heater with some burning crystals to cook the soups. You can definitely feed at least three people with the hot pot. They do love their sour-ness here so you may need to add a little bit of sugar if you're not a sour fan. Otherwise, all the ingredients they use taste fresh and are good-sized portions of veggies to the protein. +Pad Thai: Only personal negative here is that they add a ton of uncooked bean sprouts on top which I personally put to the side. Otherwise, the pad thai is super saucy and delicious. We got it with beef and yes, it's cooked well and isn't just small little slices. Do wish it had more veggies infused into it but otherwise, love how it's cooked. +Cream Cheese Wontons: These wontons are actually cooked really well. The cream cheese is super creamy and the sauce it comes with has a nice little after-kick. Worth it for fans.

Cost-wise, for about three items, it was about $35-40 depending on what you get.

Service both times I've been there has been really great. The servers are super nice; takes time to make a nice compliment or comment and are super responsive in getting thing back to the table.

Saw a comment about tables being on top of one another - not sure what this means? Yes, it's a small location but tables are spaced out well with a good room for a group of 2-4. They also seem to be heavy on to go orders in case you want to take things to go.

Haven't tried their desserts or drinks - they do have the standards like mango stick rice and smoothies / teas in case anyone is interested. Didn't see any alcohol (might have missed it).

Parking isn't too...

First off, when I decided to come here instill thought it was Fa-sai Thai. I only noticed that it had become Munch Thai once I glanced at the menu. Secondly, service was prompt and our server was extremely nice and very pleasant. When the food showed up it looked promising. I ordered the lunch special, Spicy Basil with chicken. ($7.99). Comes with two scoops of rice and a side salad. My wife decides to go with her usual panang curry entree. Plus, we decide to share a Tom Kha pot, but ended up getting a Tom Yum. Unless it was some type of hybrid soup? Nevertheless, the soup was, in my opinion, overly sour and salty. It absolutely was not a Tom Kha soup. Not sure if it was the cook that day or if I'm just used to other places. Panang had curry flavor, but more consistency of a soup vs. a thicker curry. The Spicy Thai basil offered a more edible dish. I did also prefer a Thai iced tea that was overwhelmingly sweet. However, it did work out because I diluted the drink into two and also cut down on the sweetness. All in all, I miss what used to be Fa-sai Thai here. I know they've moved but not sure if they still run this joint or if it's a whole entity into itself. Either way, I personally wasn't digging it. Come and check it out on your own and decide.
