Do you want bang for your buck? Good prices and delicious, authentic Mexican food is what you'll find here at Taqueria El Triunfo. This down-home style restaurant offers a variety of meats (over 10!) for the tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and plates. The space inside is quite small and kind of rough. However, they make up for it with their large and generous portion sizes, which are great for lunch, dinner, and a late-night snack (munchies or drunchies!).
At 10 pm, my brothers, dad and I came here to eat. I had 2 Carne Asada tacos and 1 Adobada tacos. Each taco was only $1.39! Their carne asada was very flavorful and well cooked. Perhaps, too well cooked, because it was kind of dry, which, I suppose, is expected, considering how late it was. The Adobada, which is generally pork marinated in a "red" chilli sauce with vinegar and oregano, was marinated well and thus flavorful. However, once again, it tasted kind of dry. The tacos were topped off with fresh cilantro and onion, and a delicious red salsa! Two green limes and a few sliced radishes were served with the tacos. The salsa and limes perfectly complemented the tacos. They gave the tacos great flavor and made every bite enjoyable. I also had a few bites of their chicken quesadilla, which was generously filled with cheese but not so much with chicken. The chicken was extremely flavorful, but it was extremely greasy and oily - although I think the cheese contributed to the greasiness of the quesadilla more than the chicken.
Nevertheless, the value of the food here is great. For less than $10, I was able to enjoy a generous portion of food. The food definitely hit the spot for a late...
Read moreFIrst off, BE CAREFUL When buying tacos from here!! Had 2 bad experiences with the lady who takes the orders up front and answering the phone already! She hung up on me while I was placing and order and then when I pulled up to the restaurant she openly admitted “you’re the one I hung up on huh?” After seeing the order was the same as the one I was ordering on the phone! Fire her! She has no communication skills and a bad attitude! Then she tried to tell me that they’re machines charge by “5$” so they went ahead and charged my account $2.50 because my order wasn’t even and made me loose 2.50 but I’m disputing that with my bank because she said it was 1$ For a debit transaction!! Don’t buy from this place, nothing but...
Read moreThe food was fine. No problem there but that little man that takes the orders... clearly hates his job and maybe even life itself. If I were the owner I'd fire him. Hes a huge liability. He's the most rude customer service worker I've ever come across and I don't understand why hes there by his own free will if he hates it so much. There are so many more jobs he can do for the same amount of money that dont require him to interact with humans. Apparently this is a known thing around Anaheim too because when I mentioned it to my friends they all knew who I was talking about. I will never step foot in any place the miserable man works.. like I said, the food was good but it'll never be worth seeing his sour face...
