Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Anaheim

This lot had been empty for quite a while and when I saw that Pollo Campero opened up, I wanted to try it out but I had quickly changed my mind due to all the terrible initial reviews. A week ago, I was browsing through my Instagram stories and saw that a good friend of mine had posted on her story with her family eating here so I had to ask if it was good or not. She told me it was good so my plan was to go there first thing in the morning the next day!

Monday rolled along and cruised into their drive thru a little after 10 AM. I was greeted immediately via speaker and put my order in.

Here's what I ordered:

**4 Piece Special: It was a little extra salty for my liking but very delicious! I loved how crispy for exterior of the chicken was. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. (4.5/5)

**Empanada Trio: Could've been filled a little more but it was delicious! The chicken inside was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Wasn't a fan of the buffalo sauce but their signature campero sauce was quite delicious and very similar to chick-fil-a's sauce. (5/5)

**Coleslaw: One of the best fast food style coleslaw I've had. Ten times better than KFC. (5/5)

**Campero Beans: Delicious baked beans seasoned to perfection. (5/5)

**Sweet Plantains: Ripe and very delicious! (5/5)

Overall, spectacular experience from the drive thru to picking up my order to eating it at home. I personally liked this way more than El Pollo Loco at its peak about ten years ago. This place is very affordable and very delicious! If you're looking for fast Guatemalan style chicken, this is a must try. I will be back in the near future to try more of...

This place is amazing! The food here is delicious and fresh. The service is quick and very helpful. I was having issues placing my order on the app, so we went to the counter and Isabella was so incredibly helpful and nice. This is the third time we've been here and we will definitely be back! There will be one opening soon right up the street from us in Garden Grove, so we can't wait for that. We've tried different things each time we've visited... everything has been outstanding everytime we've had it. From the plantains to the chicken to the empanadas.. you can't go wrong! I do have to say eating at the restaurant is better than taking it home, because for us it's about a 15 minute drive (don't get me wrong, it was still awesome) , but everything is way better when it's hot out of the fryer/oven however it's prepared. And when you get the chance, sign up for the Pollo Campero club.. you'll get a $10 off to use on your next visit!!! And everytime after that you get points to earn towards your next reward, it earns pretty quickly. Dining room is a little small and it does get busy for lunchtime, but the are very efficient on getting the orders out. The drive thru move quickly as well. Wanted to try this location out since we received coupons in the mail! Ordered the 8 piece family meal (half grilled half fried) and we only got 6 pieces total. We ordered our sides with some tortillas but received bread rolls instead. We ordered 2 large drinks and 2 empanadas as well (which were yummy) When paying and receiving our food (which we got pretty quickly) they just gave us our bag and closed the window quickly without saying anything. We were confused and waited there for a bit because they didn't give us our drinks. The lady then asked if something was wrong and we said we were missing our drinks and she was confused and asked for our receipt. So we had to tell them what drinks we wanted again. They seem nice and it was quick compared to other places but with them not giving us our drinks or the incomplete family meal I will not return again.
