I want to say that first of all ,this is my first time coming to this restaurant and i have never heard of it before and me and my husband decided to try something new since we were in the area and our regular shawarma place was not open. Its very clear that customer service is not their forte and its very unfortunate that we are not the only ones to see this.( I've read some of the other reviews as well. )The woman at the cash register is very rude. She isn't very clear on explaining exactly what a combo is so I will be very clear here . the combo means a shawarma wrap a really small amount of fries and a tiny little cup of salad which I really feel they shouldn't include at all because its just laughably small and it would be less boastful for them to just nix it from the menu because in this case less is not more. We received one garlic sauce for both of our meals lol. A drink will not be included and my husband clearly asked her if it was and she said yes to him and when he tried to just pay for a drink she curtly told him to wait while complaining about the fact he was going to use his card. Listen im not asking that you coddle us but please be more respectful to your paying customers because you are not doing anyone a favor. I also want to point out that we each got what i consider to be a normal size shawarma meal and for 2 this was almost 45 dollars. This is what i would expect from a 5 star restaurant that is clean and tidy not this place. I could go to a sit down restaurant with good customer service for this price. Also be prepared to wait 20 to 45 minutes for your order to come. In all fairness I will say that the shawarma was good. It wasn't amazing it was just pretty normal however i really think they should figure out their customer service because for us we couldn't fathom this kind of treatment at a restaurant and it really took away from the experience for us which ultimately neither me or my husband felt like finishing our meals. I wont be expecting to come here again. The customer service is very lacking and they are too expensive and stingy with the condiments. In Anaheim their are too many shawarma places and they are alot better than this one in price and service. bottom line, save...
Read moreMy review comes after 3 visits to this truck and newly opened storefront.
First time to truck: Inexperienced and rude cashier, they forgot me and I waited an hour to get my food while waiting in a very dangerous parking lot. Rowdy kids pulling in left and right blocking parking spaces and walking away than speeding up and down the street. The food was great!
Second time to truck: Same cashier. Same demeanor. Got my food after 20 minutes not bad, but made a small mistake on my buddies order and seems like favored customers get quicker service from the back door. Food was great!
Third time to storefront: Company owner’s mom or aunt maybe, was cashier. Unable to clearly answer my question or describe the menu item i was asking about. After handing me the receipt i asked if i can have it made with no sauce. Response was very rude and sassy. She said No! and when i asked why she said “why not?” Quickly she grabbed her things and left and my two friends had to wait for a more communicative employee to take their orders. Upon waiting for our food I clearly watched one of the cooks wearing rubber gloves reach from spatula into his pocket to grab his strawberry banana flume e cigarette. He took a nice puff or two and discreetly blew the smoke into the vent fan. We get our food shortly after and it tasted great. Maybe small hint of strawberry ;)
The younger female employee who brought our food to us was really nice and polite. Cleaned our table before we sat and got my food made to my liking before it was started. Kudos to her for saving me from filming the smoker in the kitchen and causing a scene.
Horrible management i can only imagine if the hygiene and sanitation...
Read moreWhen I was visiting LA @el_sheldon my Palestinian friend told me about this food truck in a gas station in Anaheim that serves his favorite shawarma in the United States.
LA is so sprawled out that I didn't know when we'd make it but we ended up at Disney Land in Anaheim on the fourth of July and fortunately @shawarma_loca was open.
Khaldoon did not lead me astray (he never does) because this was legitimately the best shawarma I ever had, let's break down why: The bread: the bread here is nothing more than a fresh tortilla but man oh man did I love it. Slightly crisp on the outside, thin and slightly moist on the inside - texture along awesome taste on it's own had me sold from the beginning The meat: pictured here is the chicken shawarma which is definitely the move, this shawarma is SO tender, juicy and overall flavorful idk how it can get better The sauce: the sauce is what takes this to the next level, you have great bread, great meat, add in an awesome white sauce to make it moist, it's the perfect complement from a consistency and flavor perspective Bonus: fries here are awesome and are the crinkly kind which I love
Guys - next time you're in LA make time to go to Anaheim because this shawarma is nuts. Idk what it is about gas station food trucks but when they hit,...
