I understand that pizza is subjective, but we love it. Fresh ingredients, good pepperoni, and cooked perfectly almost all of the time. Their salads, pasta, and knots are also fantastic. We have a picky eater in the family and she LOOOOVES this place! Good beer selection too!
What I really struggle to understand who is sitting back and assessing the non-food portion of the business and says “this is fine”. My kid loves the games in the back room. They are rarely serviced and if 2 of them are working, you showed up on a good day. Management…. I promise you that a bunch of families go there because they’re dragged by their children. Once the children cry because almost all of the games are broken, you’ve lost.
Maybe they’re trying to limit the dine in portion of their clientele (since when it’s mildly busy it’s a nightmare), but what they have on the TVs on a normal non-Sunday is beyond understanding. There could be a historical sporting event (like the college football playoffs last weekend) and the TVs are all on a Hofstra vs Xavier field hockey match.
If it’s busy, turn around and walk away. Not sure what the process is in the back, but if the place is a quarter-full, you’re not eating for over an hour and when your food comes, you’ll need to go back to the front because you’re still missing some things. The poor kids in the front take a lot of flack for something that’s not their fault. There’s just something broken with the order-to-table workflow once there are 6-8 concurrent dine-in orders.
For both this location and the other one on Tustin, the only thing that’s missing is an on-site GM who can step back from the madness in the kitchen and make the place an overall enjoyable experience. The high-school kids who work there are friendly and helpful, but they’re never going inherently understand what makes a successful, enjoyable family restaurant trip. That’s why an on-site (non kitchen) manager should be there overseeing everything. I believe an experienced one would be shocked at...
Read moreReally hard not to post. Only doing it with the hope of letting someone who cares know how the staff is not preserving the customer service and quality of experience. We are long time patrons, like 20+ years. The people here lack structure and knowledge of customer expectations. You will potentially experience some form of dissatisfaction visiting this location at this particular time. Whether it be waiting in line while the staff joke around at the other end of the counter, or orders not brought out in a timely fashion or in order because of a lack of attention or training. Will try the Tustin Ave location next time. Hopefully someone gets their arms around this as it historically has been a good local...
Read moreI have now visited Zitos 4 times. I have enjoyed their pizza, wings, salads, and a sandwich. Very generous meat and toppings. When everyone else is cutting back on toppings and meat, Zitos is still giving you your money's worth. I really love the atmosphere. They have a great family vibe. There were lots of youth sports teams when I've been there so it has a great, fun, active feel. Plenty of TVs with current sports games playing. The beer selection is fantastic with many, many beers on tap. Can't comment on the delivery aspect as I don't live nearby but I look forward to being in the area just so I can stop in and enjoy the Zitos experience....
