The Vanguard Ann Arbor, Autograph Collection — Hotel in Ann Arbor

Beautiful new hotel, but it still has some kinks they need to work out like the phones didn't work, ice machine didn't work. The rooms are really clean and nice, the beds and pillows are really comfortable, comforter is paper thin but oddly enough it was enough to keep us comfortable. Bathroom showers are spacious, water pressure in shower is non existent so can't get really clean between all the nooks and crannies. The provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash (Santal 33) even though it smelt good it is suppose to be a unisex scent, but the scent smelt more of a men's cologne, as a woman I didn't like it for myself. Wish the toilet part of the bathroom had a little table or shelves to hold phone or tablets while sitting on the porcelain throne. I found that their was not enough supplies, no extra blankets or pillows in closet, not enough coffee cups, ass. sugar packets, creamers etc....especially if you plan on staying in for an extended periods of time. Not enough restaurants in or around the hotel which leaves you no choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant which I was not impressed with as a chef, food is greasy and very salty. I would have loved to see more restaurants in and around the hotel so that we didn't have to order out. I also would have like to see a gift shop for those times when you forgot something like a hat,personal items, or would just like to bring home some decent souvenirs instead of having to give out the hotel bar of hand...

My only disappointment is that I was only booked for a one night stay at the Vanguard.

I arrived around 5:45 pm on July 31st and was greeted at the entrance by 2 amazing valets, who set the tone for my visit.

I was then welcomed at check in by Ethan who just simply was the icing on the cake after a long day of travel and meetings! I got tips, I got maps, I got treats and it made my long travel day feel like “coming home”. Ethan is so positive, caring and is truly the epitome of customer service.

After dinner I returned to a lovely cocktail at the bar with Chris who is attentive and customized my cocktail to my liking. I was even serenaded by Dominic!

Before turning in for the night I got guidance and support from Ethan and Emily at the front desk to determine the travel time needed to return to DTW to ensure I would make my early morning flight!

I’m most grateful to the valet staff, Ethan, Chris, Dominic and Emily for the attention to detail shown in my stay! Special shout out to Ethan who just went above and beyond on taking care of my stay.

If my one night stay is an indication of the customer service at the Vanguard, they get 6 stars from me!

Absolutely LOVED our stay at The Vanguard Hotel during a bachelorette trip to Ann Arbor! From start to finish, it exceeded every expectation. The location is unbeatable…just a short walk to all the best bars, restaurants, and nightlife, which made our celebration even more fun and stress-free.

The lobby bar and restaurant were a total highlight. Seriously, a 10/10 experience! The atmosphere was stylish and lively, the drinks were delicious and creative, and the service was top-tier—friendly, fast, and super accommodating. It really set the tone for the whole trip.

Our room was just as impressive. Spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and with a stunning view that made mornings and pre-game evenings extra special. It felt modern yet cozy, exactly what you want for a weekend getaway.

Whether you’re planning a girls’ trip, a romantic weekend, or just passing through Ann Arbor, I can’t recommend The Vanguard Hotel enough. Worth every single penny! We’ll...
