Szechuan Star — Restaurant in Annandale

Yesterday, in the evening, we went here to come because we wanted to order food. The Chinese lady at the front look like that she didn’t want to serve us at all because of me and my parents arguing about being picky with the menu here. My mom asked the Chinese Lady at the front about the Sweet and Sour Soup that is Vegetarian and she told us that it is made with Chicken Broth. How is it impossible to have a Vegetarian Sweet and Sour Soup that is made with chicken both? The Sweet and Sour Soup needs to be made with vegetable broth if it is listed as the vegetarian option in the menu. This is very misleading. My mom has ordered the Sweet and Sour Soup in a vegetable broth here before. However, the Chinese Lady pointed out the soup in the menu that is vegetarian. Only one vegetarian option. For the dinner option, there should be vegetarian options like most Chinese Restaurants have. The Chinese Lady could have mention that the Sweet and Sour Soup that is listed as Vegetarian ran out of vegetable broth and that is what my mom has ordered before. She lacks customer service skills. She is very snobby and rude. It looks like that she wasn’t well trained at all for the vegetarian options in the menu because there could be some customers that are vegan...

I hate to write negative reviews for restaurants, but this is unacceptable. I place an online order and gave instructions for the delivery driver to text me or call me when they were outside the apartment building. Half an hour later there is a male knocking outside my aparment door as if he was the trying to teardown the door. He doesn't even say where is coming from and starts to yell "Why are not answering you phone", "I text you and call so so many times", "update you phone number... next time I will leave your food outside on the street". Since I can care less for his fustration I just grab my food and closed the door. I double check that my phone number was correct before writing this review. Whether is true if he called me or not (because I did not get any calls or messages), it is not a reason to knock on someones door like that. Much more less to speak to someone with such tone and demeanor. Its a shame because I really like this retaurant and the people that work there, but some of their drivers are just disrespectful. I recently had the pleasure of dinning at this Chinese restaurant, and I can confidently say that it was a 5-star experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and friendly service that made me felt that I was going to have a great experience. The menu is typical as with any other Chinese restaurant, but it was the speed of which I ordered and got the food served. It was very delicious! Not too greasy and the food was fresh! Also, the portion sizes were more than enough, and I actually had leftovers to take home. I got the combination fried rice, hot and sour soup, and the kung pao chicken.

Despite the high quality food and generous portion, I was delighted that the overall bill was very reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dinning experience and that you don't have to break your wallet. I would definitely go back and try...
