Hard avocado and a bite taken out of my key lime pie??
We’ve been meaning to check this place out for a while, and despite the headline I’m glad we did.
The vibe is cool (although loud AF), but we did get used to the noise. The food is good, as we expected as frequent Adams customers, but there were a few missteps.
I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were good, but the avocado was HARD. The entire top of the taco is covered in a nice helping of AVO, and we all know when an avocado is NOT ready to eat. Nonetheless, they served it up on this $16 shrimp taco dish.
After a few really good drinks, thanks to a great bartender, we decided to take a couple of desserts home. My key lime pie looked as if a small human had taken a bite out of it. I’m sure that’s not the case (I hope), but why send a dessert home that looks as if there’s an actual bite taken out of it. Overall, a decent experience, but I won’t forget the hard avo, and the bite mark taken out of the key lime pie. These aren’t difficult things to mange. I’m not spending $200 on a dinner for this level of half-way...
Read moreI was about 15 minutes late arriving and my friends were just being shown to our table when we had no reservation at 6:30 on a Friday evening. We were upstairs and the tables around the open area of the restaurant were quiet enough for understandable conversation, though there were a lot of conversations going on in the restaurant. The waitress was attentive. She brought water without being prompted. She checked back frequently to get appetizer, additional drinks and dinner orders. Shrimp taco was delicious. The tomatoes on it did not make the wrap too soggy. There was nothing special about the fries or the chicken wings. The sauces for the wings were delicious. It was a good location to meet, converse and have a fine meal after a...
Read moreMy husband and I were really excited to try Adams on Fourth and support a new local restaurant. We started with the “Maraca” as an appetizer, and when my husband cut into the crab cake, we found a LARGE SHARD OF GLASS inside the crab cake.
We immediately informed our waitress, who was very apologetic and even said, “I’m going to go get the owner.” She kindly replaced the dish, which we appreciated.
However, no one from management came to speak with us while we were dining. Finding glass in food is a huge safety concern and poses a serious risk to all customers. Despite the incident, we paid our bill in full, but having management address the situation directly would have made us feel heard and reassured about the restaurant’s commitment to...
