Mi Lindo Cancun Grill — Restaurant in Annapolis

Let me begin by saying this is probably the second or third restaurant review I've done in my lifetime. I generally just vote with my feet and not return, but because this is a place that I've gone to so many times in the past and even know the owner and his family, I felt compelled.

We haven't been to Mi Lindo in a couple of years because the last experience was really bad. This experience made that pale in comparison.

We decided we hadn't been there in a while and wanted to give it another try. We went in, and it was not very busy about half full, and I asked for a booth like I always do because of my back problems. The guy behind the counter just looked at me and shook his head and, under his breath, said no. He walked us over to a table, so I pointed to any of the empty booths and asked to be seated in a booth, but he again just said no. We reluctantly decided to sit at a table instead of leaving. 1st time, I was not able to sit at a booth, not off to a good start.

We ordered two sodas and the queso to start. The waitress who seemed to be in a bad mood spilled queso on the table while setting it down. I figured when she came back with our drinks, she would possibly wipe it up, but instead, it was left on our table the entire time. My wife ordered steak, and I ordered steak with eggs over easy. My wifes steak was a little fatty but not terrible. My steak was properly cooked medium, but there was so much fat that it was very unappetizing, and the eggs that I ordered over easy were so overcooked that the yolks were basically a solid. I knew my wife would be done eating by the time they refired an entire steak and two eggs, so I just asked her to take my meal off the order, besides by the time she came back to check on us my wife actually was already halfway finished with her meal.

When my wife finished eating, we asked for the check, which she brought over, and showed that she had removed my meal. As I looked the bill over, I was shocked to see that the two sodas were $8 the two sodas that she never came back to refill. $8 for two sodas hell the queso was only six.

Sadly, over the years, the quality of food and absolutely the quality of service has gone way downhill. The food unarguably used to be great and the service even better.

Unfortunately, we won't be returning, and we really will miss...

Absolutely outstanding. I contacted Harry for a catering order for my mother’s surprise birthday party. He was super helpful & I thought the prices were very reasonable. I told him how many people were coming & he suggested a quantity for the tacos. Well, let me just say we ended up having about 8 people more than I expected & STILL had leftovers!!! That’s how much food we got! What a great value! And very well packaged! I had never had their food before but someone suggested I try them. Let me just say, everyone at the party RAVED about how good the food was & many demanded to know where I got them. We specifically got the chorizo, steak, & chicken tacos. We also got sides of salsa, guacamole, queso, & chips; all of which were excellent and very fresh as well (even a couple of hours after pick up). The tacos came with containers of very generous amounts of every single topping you can imagine which was amazing!! I did want rice and beans & unfortunately I think they were forgotten when we picked up (I did not pay extra for them) Honestly, I’m not even mad at all, the food was amazing and everyone had more than enough to eat! I was able to communicate via text with Harry which I loved because I’m often around my mother as we own a business together and work together every day & since the party was a surprise for her I obviously didn’t want her hearing me on the phone talking about it. Super easy and convenient communication as well as pick up. My husband picked up the order for me but had our 2 year old daughter with him in her car seat & the employees (who he said were super nice) brought it out to the car and loaded everything to help him out. I’m very very pleased and would 100% recommend!! Thank you, Harry & Mi Lindo Cancun Grill staff!! I will definitely use your services again in the future & recommend you to anyone who’s looking for a place to get local authentic...

There have been at least five new Mexican restaurants that have opened in about the last year, and this is by far the best one! I grew up in New Mexico and pretty much always seek Mexican food when we dine out. (sushi is a close second) My wife and I tried this place out and it was fantastic! Great service, warm freshly made tortilla chips and a great spicy salsa served within the first minute after sitting down. Margaritas are a perfect potency of tequila, not too sweet. The only thing we weren't a fan of was the queso. It's pretty bland. So, we added salsa to it and it was one of the best we've ever had! Recommend they modify this. My wife ordered a steak and shrimp quesadilla, not on the menu, and the complied without question. Was fantastic. I had the red and green chicken burrito, the green sauce was amazing, zesty and had a kick. The red sauce was more mole' flavored, I would have preferred a red Chile sauce, but the spices of the chicken made up for it, excellent! Sides of lettuce and fixings were excellent. I could only eat half the burrito and took the rest home. They even gave me a container of salsa to take home with my leftovers for no charge. We will definitely be back. We were impressed by uncle julios that recently opened, and were truly surprised that this place beat it for our new favorite! Would give 4 1/2 stars but don't see that option. Only deducting half a point for things mentioned above and overall location of the restaurant, and lack of patio seating. All minor things with excellent food, service and very reasonable prices!

Somehow you're not allowed to make multiple reviews, but here is a second. Super solid food, probably best in the Annapolis area and even moreso the mid Atlantic. Prices have increased but not to their blame....
