Good place to get work done. House brew is smooth. Drink it black Edit: coffee is still great, definitely gotten more expensive and way more crowded since 2018 when we lived nearby and it was on the newish side. Would no longer call it a “good place to get work done” based on the sheer number of people coming through the door (which means business is great 😁!) if you’re looking for a “laptop and lattes” day I would recommend the edgewater location which feels much less trendy and popular. I have yet to try the mad egg, but I have bought their coffees, their beans for my home espresso machine, and their swag (stickers, cups, clothing etc) and though it is all on the pricey side, I would say (respectively) it is all tasty, well roasted, and artfully designed 🤎 ☕️

Okay so…I grew up in NM where we have the best breakfast burritos, and most of the time the breakfast burritos I’ve had elsewhere are kinda meh. I think the Rise Up burrito I just tried from Rise Up’s truck out back is hands down one of the best breakfast burritos I’ve had in a decade, no exaggeration. And the red salsa is super flavorful and just spicy enough, *chefs kiss*!!! 🌶️ Their oat milk matcha is also really lovely; high marks across the board. Genuinely wish I could bring them back to the PNW with me, and by them I mean the entire food truck and the lovely, talented folks who created these beauties. Will definitely be back before I trek back home!! 10/10 recommend.

I always judge a shop off their iced oat milk lattes, and this one hits a solid 6 for me - the taste of the espresso is a bit mild and fruity, and it balances well with the oat milk they use, but unfortunately I got a bit of a wonky shot pull so it’s leaving a slight aftertaste. However, the staff was so friendly and the shop itself is fantastic - especially for days with good weather - so I’d be remiss to not give it another shot! Unfortunately I’m just passing through, but I do genuinely believe that what I received wasn’t their full potential, so I do recommend that you try them out for yourself - especially for the food as well, since it all looked amazing!

Rise Up often hits the mark for affordable coffee drinks that are normally cheaper and flavorful than your average national coffee chain. Their espresso and blended drinks are a must-try when you're in Central Maryland.

Their Mad Eggs joint (food provider between 6AM-3PM) is often hit or miss though. While it's good, the food is too expensive for a casual morning pick-up, especially for those who are on a budget. A bacon, egg and cheese sandwich would run you up about $10 -- it is way cheaper to buy a bagel with butter or cream cheese spread.

Knowing that this is a local business with young interns, I tend to excuse normal hiccups, like missing tots or a small amount of coffee grounds in my drink (Yes, both happened to me last visit). Although it's unwanted, it doesn't subtract from a lot of my experiences, as accidents like these happen too far in-between.

Also, I've seen a lot of reviews talking about the "politics" of this store. There are none, and are most likely talking about the Pride flag outside their store or their practice of fair trade ingredients. These ideologies aren't forced at all, and is not that deep.

If you're visiting Maryland or just live local, this place is a must-try for anyone who...

Love this place! I’ve been a customer for years now, since first moving to Annapolis. This is one of my go to coffee places, offering lots of fun options in addition to a solid iced latte as well as breakfast with a modern branding flair and attention to the experience. Coffee flavor profile is more on the mild side for my taste but still good. Hot lattes can be hit or miss depending on the barista and overheating the milk, and you won’t get latte art here.

They use good quality ingredients and have some niche drinks like coffee smoothies and frozen lemonade in addition to the more expected seasonal flavors which are often excellent as well. My favorites are their iced lattes and the breakfast burritos (the rise up). You can also get Carlson’s glazed donuts here which are very good.

Limited seating, but a good spot to do some work or meet up with a friend. There are a few tables inside with outlets, and picnic tables outside as well.

The ultimate hack here is to mobile order your burritos/mad eggs food before you go, which is typically ready way before the estimated time, and order coffee in person so it’s fresh and all your stuff is ready around...

I regularly get my frozen coffee from here during the week and Kelsey and Willie are great. I went today, which is Saturday, and the costumer service was BAD. I waited a long time as I sat there and watched customer after customer who came in after me get their drinks and leave. No one had started my frozen coffee yet so I approached the counter and told the young lady who was making the coffees why my coffee was taking so long and why people who came after me have come and go. She sarcastically says to me ...sorry, that’s the way it goes with frozen drinks. I shared with her my dissatisfaction with that kind of attitude and service and she says to me that I can take it up with the manager who was standing right there the whole time and didn’t say anything. Then a young man starts making my coffee and he does not have gloves on and uses his bare hands to pick up my straw and put it in my cup. I addressed him regarding that and he stated that he was allergic to gloves which I followed up with then use a napkin! I am sharing my experience today in hopes that the owner will see it...
