EDIT: Dropped to four stars because my fiancée and I got food poisoning .. either the Tonkotsu Beef ramen we shared or the salmon/ spicy salmon sushi burritos (likely the latter). Love this place, and will return again after a stepping back — it seemed to be a matter of time before we got sick from their raw fish, but it seems fair to also drop the rating for really killing our following day 🤢🤮 ———
tldr; Anything you want on their large, customizable menu is bound to taste fresh and flavorful, and we’re very happy to have found this place.
We used to only have one spot for sushi burritos, requiring a 30min drive to DC at a good time in the day — but then we discovered Taichi Bubble Tea.
Not only are the sushi burritos fresh tasting, and have an incredible amount of options available, but they also have ramen. The ramen here is so good, with wonderful broths; I think my favorite is Spicy Tonkotsu, but each one I’ve tried has not disappointed (and I’ve tried quite a few at this point). Also having many options and a pretty vast customizability, you can get weird always have ramen your way: all the crunchies, slap some corn in there, and then BAM let’s double them noods too.
They also have rice bowls, and salad bowls, to breach that ground of, “oh yeah, totally eating healthy tonight,” as you topple toppings into those bad boys too. We haven’t even gotten to the Bubble Tea, which is obviously good because it’s their namesake - but they have a nice rotation of seasonal flavors too.
p.s. sorry no pictures we always forget because...
Read moreThe gentleman at the register was rude. No greeting. I had to say, Hi twice and ask him about not responding to my greeting.
My bowl came to $16.5? and I got what seemed to be a pinch of everything. My order was a bowl with spring mix and two proteins.
I left the store after commenting on the little bit of everything, and it didn't seem to not matter to any of the 3 up front. I went back in to speak with the manager.
The cash register guy referred me to a guy bent over, who bagged the food moments earlier, that was still on his cell phone.
He said the manager wasn't there and I asked for a number, and he told me to come back. I let him know again that I was not happy to have paid almost $17.00 for the amount of food.
I told him it didn't used to be this way. I decided to just get my money back.
Very disappointed. I used to refer people here. I...
Read moreThis is our first time ordering from Taichi, we came on a busy summer Saturday afternoon. We got the Taro milk tea at 50% sweetness, cheesy strawberry smoothie, a custom poke burrito and a custom Poké bowl.
The drinks were very good and not too sweet, and the food items were fresh but the burrito was a little squished while I watched the staff member prepping it and the ingredients weren’t well distributed before being rolled. But it tasted fine (according to my husband). Being a poke lover, I think they could be just a little more generous with their ingredients for the burrito since my husband didn’t check very many things off the list that filled for the burrito. We spent $43 so didn’t think the value was there on the food side.
Other than that I will likely come back for the drinks and have the food for...
