I was going to originally give this a 3 star since my wife had a good experience but less then 30 minutes after getting home and the drink I got has already curdled 🤮.
I came here with my pregnant wife 10-15 minutes before closing to fulfill a craving of hers and overall the experience was good and quick. She enjoyed her drink but for myself it's been very confusing since I left the store.
I'll start by saying I know I don't have a full understanding of boba and have only had it a handful of times but never once have I been confused by the logic of their menu/recipes.
I ordered the Pina Colada smoothie to enjoy something NOT hot during a typical Arizona 100° day and upon being asked if I wanted any boba I said yes. Without knowing any better due to my lack of boba knowledge I assumed they would've put something like the popping/jelly bobas like other establishments do for refreshing drinks. Edit after looking at the menu they have Coconut jellies, why in the world would this not be the default???
But nope, they put HOT brown sugar boba and carmel sauce. This addition of weird flavors completely ruined the drink and turned it into a Carmel frappe w/ slight coconut flavor. If I wanted a frappe I would've gone to Starbucks.
After a few sips on the way home trying to justify the $7 I paid and determining if I wanted to leave a review or not the entire drink has gone bad.
I'm not mad at the employee for not specifically asking what type of boba I wanted but more Boba Shacks part in having their employees putting HOT boba in a cold drink in Arizona.
Nowhere in the menu does it specify this is the default option and if you're like me and only have gone to a couple of other establishments who actually take the time to label their menu properly you're in for a rude awakening.
I added a time stamp for when I noticed the drink had curdled so there's no trying to say I waited to...
Read moreMy son loves boba, and this is the only shop he'll go to.
We pick one activity/treat each week that he gets to enjoy that doesn't depend on his behavior, school work, chores, etc. He's autistic, and with the many different therapies it's necessary to have a stress free break. Unfortunately, after being in a vehicle accident that totaled my truck, we haven't been able do his usual activity. He's still dealing with the trauma and has been more shut down lately. He gets so excited when he knows we're going to get his weekly boba, and it means so much to me to see that shimmer of happiness in him again. He loves trying new flavors and is eager to 'help' me finish my drink, lol. The employees are so patient with him while he decides what he wants, even when he's unable to communicate with them directly or having a rough day. The owner even came out to talk with us last week and was so incredibly kind and encouraging. The drinks and chocolate covered waffles are absolutely delicious! But the people are what truly makes this the best boba shop...
Read moreHands down the best boba I have ever had! I have been under the weather after a dental procedure and I thought visiting Boba Shack would cheer me up. I wasn’t wrong. I’m there fairly often and stop by whenever I can because their boba pearls are positively addicting. I don’t know what the magic is that happens in that crock pot (yes, they make their own fresh boba!) but it must have something to do with how deliciously addicting these drinks are! Super fresh and absolutely delicious, the drinks aren’t the only reason to visit. You will get greeted by super friendly staff or even the owner and they were able to look up my usual order and have it ready for me. I absolutely recommend the jasmine honey mango boba (get the deliciousness from the crock pot!) or the Thai Tea boba. I already want to go back. They do popup events where they set up a boba bar so your guests or employees can make their own which is definitely on my list for a work event. I cannot recommend them enough. Friendly, fun,...
