Minnesota Burger Company — Restaurant in Apple Valley

No one greeted.Ok no problem, there’s like 8 people at the bar and the sign says you “can” seat yourself at the bar. I do not want to sit at the bar with my wife I want a booth away from the bar so I wait. Waitress walks by not even making eye contact, then looks back and says I’ll be right with you two to help. At this point that’s great I see she’s working, all is good. Then this second waitress comes out of nowhere with the worst attitude known to man. “Can you see the sign it says seat yourself at the bar.” At this point I immediately changed my mind about this place. Worst service and having even sat down yet. Place is full swing open yet don’t open the entire seating area. My initial thoughts as a business owner was. What if I was a recovering alcoholic, or an alcoholic for that matter, the only seating available is the bar area in a restaurant that should be fully open. Terrible waitress who quite honestly shouldn’t be working in this profession if she can’t fake a smile and treat people right.All said and done. I will never set foot in this establishment again. I will tell people about my horrible experience in hopes they don’t go there either. I ended up going to Culver’s instead a fast food restaurant and was treated better.Maybe the owner should fire his staff and go offer the employees at Culver’s a job because they handle customer service well every time.Just another burger joint that will shut down due to lack of empathy for people. Update Went here on the owners dime, really went in with an open mind.Unfortunately, the staff all seemvery unhappy with their jobs. Not one person smiled. Food was ok, waitress didn’t ask how I wanted my burger cooked. This is Minnesota burger? Representing the name of Minnesota and making great burgers. Unfortunately I ordered a burger and wow was I disappointed, when I go to a restaurant and order something they specialize or for instance have the name of said food in their name in their company name. I expect perfection. Again, Culver’s a fast food restaurant is excels in the quality and taste of a burger. My wife commented why didn’t we go to smash burger instead…. Well when the owner is gracious enough, to convince you to come back for a second chance, which by the way I fully respect the owner and think he truly cares about his business, the best not reason I went back is because of the owner. Unfortunately his great customer service was not enough to make up for the he lack luster service, unhappy employees, and bland food. I would hope this review is a spark for the owner to rethink the business they have, and reassess how the waiters/waitress present themselves for the customer. Food needs to be rethought, or maybe even the chefs need to be evaluated for performance. Not everyone can make food that makes people come back. Now the one thing I can say, if you’re looking to get drunk on an expensive tab with excellent side foods this is the place for you. I would definitely come back to spend 8$ for a bottle of beer, and one of their sides. Which I can honestly say the fries are the only thing making me consider coming back. From my first experience where they represented themselves as a bar vs restaurant because they can’t staff to maintain the entire restaurant, therefore closing the beautiful restaurant they have available to the bar only. Huge waste in my opinion. Overall:Terrible burgers- Minnesota burger…. Terrible service- no one smiling, didn’t even get asked how is my food.Food- bland no flavor, fry sauce way too much mayonnaise, burgers literally no flavor; seriously tasted like Lowry seasoning salt, I personally make burgers better than this without even trying. Only went back because owner is respectable and cares.Won’t be back due to everything said above. This place will be closed before you can even go for a second time. We just popped in by mistake as it looked like a good happy hour, and it was busier than Piz. Social, so we thought we were missing something. We were served fast, and our server was great. They give you a free chips and house made season sour cream, which my partner liked both.

He got an old fashion which didn't look like an old fashion, looked like wiskey with ice. No garnish at all picture is attached But it was harsh, not good, which is unfortunate since they are the same company as Whiskey Inferno. 1 star.

We got the cheddar cheese curds on happy hour, suggestion of the server. Honestly, I was shocked how good they were. They make their own batter it is light, not greasy, and the cheese was perfect. It was melted, just amazing. 5 star. We didn't eat them all because of our food.

My partner got the boneless chicken wings with buffalo. Which, they use a browned butter for their buffalo sauce. He said he didn't really notice the difference other than they seemed greasier.3 star. The blue cheese he liked as they smoke and melt the blue cheese crumbles to make it.

I got the 3 sliders on happy hour. I got 2 of the brisket and 1 of the turkey. Let's talk about the brisket slider. I knew you would not get much brisket as it is an expensive meat, that I'm ok with and understand. But one of the briskets is over half fat and not edible. Enough when I combined the good stuff and left the fat, the waitress thought I left a sandwich. And the bbq sauce there was barley any in it, a nickle size on the top bun. The brisket was good, had good flavor. Not as smokey as W.I. but good. Then the turkey was good, smokey, but the rub on it had a bit of a kick. The fries were fine, they are fries.

We got a founder card to come back and get 10% off. We would go again and try another thing. Well, I would do the turkey again and stick with water and the curds for sure.

I have read the reviews. But remember, in regards to having to wait. This place is new, and help is hard to get, plus they are trying to get their groove. Try to show some...

UPDATE: We went to the MN Burger Co again last weekend and it was great. Our server, Pearl (don't ya just love it?) was friendly and attentive. Made a world of difference. Since we got to try the nfood this time we had burgers and cheese curds. The burgers were good but the cheese curds were noutstanding. Crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. We will go again. We went to MN Burger Co to celebrate my birthday on Sunday March 9th and we had the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had in my 67 years. We were seated quickly and then promptly forgotten about. It was over 10 minutes until the waitress even stopped by to say she be "right back" to help up. And another 10 minutes or so until she actually did return (20min). We ordered 2 sodas, 2 waters, 1 choc milk and cheese curds. After about 15 min she returned with 2 sodas. No water, no choc milk & no cheese curds (35min). She said she'd be right back with the choc milk. My son finally had to go up to the waitress area and ask for the milk. She brought it 5 minutes later (45min) but still no water or cheese curds. By this time we had had enough and asked for the check, which she never brought. We got up to leave and as my son passed her he asked again for the check and she said "it was all good". Now one the worst parts about this whole ordeal was that she just didn't seem to care at all that she had given us crappy service. Didn't try to make it right/better, never asked the manager to speak with us, nothing. We will never give them a 2nd chance. For reference we were seated in the far right back corner in the booth just in front of the large round booth...
