Had my 1st experience at Popeye's on Wednesday. And I can say it'll be my last.
Dined inside and when placing our order, we decided to get the $11.99 special that was advertised on the lighted display to the left of the counter. The order taker then 'snootily' replies with, "We're not offering that anymore." We referenced / pointed at the sign, and she says, "They just haven't taken the sign down yet."
Popeye's, if you're not going to offer something, don't be advertising it at your front counter right next to where people place their order! At minimum, you should unplug the sign if you're not offering that special anymore!
Anywho... We each ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, and it was basically eating their crispy breading between a smooshed bun with the spicy dressing and a pickle.
Where's the chicken Popeye?! Seriously, this piece of chicken was so thin, it basically was the thickness of a few slices of lunchmeat. In my opinion: A $5 sandwich that wasn't even worth $1. Very disappointing.
Side note... while placing the order, there was a manager (so it appeared) that looked like he was working drive through that suddenly steps out into the food prep area & angerly yells at some employees, "IT'S CHICKEN!! HOW HARD CAN IT BE?!" ...then disappears back into the drive-through area. Not really something customers wanna see.
Companies are blaming the lack of employees on the pandemic and the economy... Got news for you Popeye's, you're hurting on employees because of how awful you treat them - from.what i saw today - in general & in front of your customers and other employees. Hell, after seeing that, I'd tell people who were looking for a job to NOT apply at Popeye's as they treat their employees awfully.
Too, the proverbial cherry on top of the sundae: We couldn't find a clean table to sit at either! Seriously? Mr. manager... instead if yelling at your employees, why don't you get your arse out into the dining area and clean some tables! I mean seriously, its not like it was all that busy even.
So not only did they lose money on a sale, they assured that a first time customer will not return...
Read moreI visited this store August 25 2024 after 5pm. As I enter the parking lot I see some employees outside smoking. No big deal employees on break. As I walk towards the building so does 2 of the employees. Both employees went right back into the kitchen neither one of them washed there hands. Believe it or not the male employee was the store manger🙄 first red flag. The girl at the register was extremely rude red flag #2 She took my order never said hello she made no suggestions to go with my food nothing personal about the experience at all. Then she hands me 4 cups to fill at a drink machine that she already knows is out of order. So I walk back over to the counter the nasty Manager who is serving food without having washed his hands looks me in the face and says the machine is not working and walks away. Then the Zombie faced cashier returns and just stands there looking at me never offering to fill my drinks from behind the counter. So after standing there holding chicken that I'm sure is contaminated after watching the manger and the cashier hygiene routine.I finally ask after a few minutes had passed if someone was going to fill my drinks. The attitude that I received from the cashier had I not been with my child I would have verbally assisnated the cashier. While waiting for her to fill the drinks finally, the cook comes from the back his appearance is horrible. He has flour everywhere. Unprofessional as a teenager I worked in fast food. He should have had an apron on. He should have never been in the public eye with all that nasty flour and who knows what else on his clothes. Now all of whatever he carrying around on his clothes is getting into whatever he is preparing. This was truly a horrible visit. As I'm writing this review I now regret not taking pictures and calling the health inspector, Osha somebody. I work in health care and you would be amazed at how many cases of food poisoning you see daily just from poor hand hygiene. It's safe to say this was my first and last visit to...
Read more12/20/21 Entered the drive thru line around 6:10…. Line was backed up to just into the front of the building. No big deal I didn’t mind waiting. But I definitely regret waiting. Moved up two spots…. Now your basically trapped in the drive thru. Lol. FINALLY got up to order about 35 min later. Lady came on and said she’d be right with me to take our order…… then that was it! About 3 cars ahead of us already ordered waiting for food (we didn’t get out to count)… eventually my son hopped out and looked around the building…. 2 cars waiting for food. About 15 min later he looked again…. 1 car waiting for food…. About 10 min later he looked again- no cars waiting for food. We are still waiting for our order to be taken. Now.. I don’t blame the workers for all of this- management failed them at having their store staffed properly to help customers. If you can’t handle drive thru traffic- they should not be taking call in orders!!! Their dine in area was already closed. What I do blame them for is NEVER coming back to take our order. We waiting….. 30 min at the drive thru menu to order. We said hello many times- plus our constant talking with our window down….. crickets. We pulled up to the window- only saw 1 person in back- making food for- no idea but it wasn’t for ANY of the at least 7 cars waiting to order. There is no excuse for that type of service. If you can’t handle drive they traffic for lack of employees than you need to close for that day or stop taking call in orders. Which I know they were doing because I saw people go in and come out with bags earlier. 1 hour waiting to order is not acceptable. I would have gladly left earlier lol but once you in line lol there is no escape till no one getting food in front of you. We left went to Chick-fil-A and had our dinner within minutes of ordering. And plenty of car traffic over there. Management failed this location...
