You don’t have to play billiards to enjoy the food. My wife and I joined our friends here for lunch and we were all pleased with our decision, and food selection. We sat in a booth open on both ends in the somewhat large dining area that included a bar. The back room contained pool tables and high top tables along the wall. Even beyond the pool tables was another room that could be set up for private dining or other events such as receptions and parties. Back to dining...the menu included appetizers, burgers (beef, bison, elk, venison), sandwiches and wraps, a good variety of sides, salads, and steaks, plus items for kids. I ordered the Mad Apple burger with the bbq sauce on the side. The burger was quite tall but I managed to consume it anyway. The trick was to not let go of it once I had it in my hand. The side order of hand cut fries was good too and I ate every last one. If you want a healthier fare, there are some items as well so I recommend checking out their menu online. The font used on the menu mimicked the font used for the business name and was not the easiest to read. While it may have been cute to use it throughout their menu, they neglected to realize It is far from being one of the easier to read fonts like Georgia or Arial. Outside of this marketing blunder, my group enjoyed the dining experience including the very friendly staff. Lastly, if you are a billiard player and need your cue stick fixed, there is also a store within that take care of all of your billiard needs including a new table and stick repairs. UPDATE: 6 months later we returned for breakfast. We started out with some Bloody Mary’s and a craft beer chaser. Excellent tasty beverage at a reasonable price. We followed up with a build your own plate where I chose my two eggs easy over, 2 slices of thick bacon (I received 3), breakfast potatoes, and 1 slice of thick French toast. The menu shows I should have received two slices but one was plenty. The bread, including hamburger buns, is homemade, fresh, and thickly dense. It was very filling. Two slices would have put me over the edge. My bride had the pancakes with two patties of the HOMEMADE sausage. This place is another of Appleton’s undiscovered secrets. Remember this place if you want breakfast! Skip Denny’s and IHOP. They are not even close. And the staff is still extremely friendly and helpful. Lastly, they changed the menu font to one that is easily read. It may not look like your typical breakfast stop but you should put it on your radar. It is on ours.

The Mad Apple Burger & Billiard Co. has a big customizable burger menu. We, however, went with the standard Mad Apple Burger which is a Western burger with onion rings and BBQ sauce. The toppings, including lovely long stips of bacon, were very good. The flavors were fine. It was the standard beef burger patty that was a let down. It didn't feel hand made and was not thick enough. That's probably why I didn't get the medium rare that I ordered. Instead, my burger was served medium well. So, pay the additional $3 to choose a different meat. I'm thinking elk will provide a thicker and juicier burger while tasting closer to beef than the other choices. The hand cut fries were cut thin, so they were crispier than usual. Good idea. The cheese curds were only okay because they were clumped together which made some of them hold too much oil. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The place itself is pretty huge and impressive, and outside seating is available. Plus, there's a ginormous pool hall in the back with professional style billiards. There are other games to play as well. So, overall, it's a cool place to hustle up a game and some grub.

The billiards portion of Mad Apple is amazing. They have a lot of tables and some great setups, including options for party rooms and a feature table where your games are streamed online. They also have excellent foosball tables and a well-set-up patio. The employees (I think one was the owner) were very friendly. The scratch kitchen at Mad Apple Burger & Billiard Company is a great concept, and some of the food was very good, while other dishes were just okay. They do offer a kids' menu, but we encountered some issues. I'm not sure if it was our waitress or the way the menu is set up, but we were charged for extra items that were supposed to be included, and a few items were missing the first time around. The kids with me usually enjoy their meals at most places, but most of them didn't care for the kids' meals here. On a positive note, the appetizer was very good! Overall, I think the best food was the traditional bar food.

Jan. 25th at 4pm my adult son and I came in to enjoy supper. upon entering, we went up to the wait station. there was a person behind there that said they couldn't even help us because she was already punched out. so we had to wait for someone to seat us about 5 minutes. I looked around and 2 wait staffs were rolling silverware w/napkins. I don't know where the other one came from but she seated us. we waited another 10 minutes for our waitress to come out. she took our drink and food order all at once. my son got his lemonade right away. I didn't get my can off soda until after the food and I told her I didn't get it yet. The food that was ordered was a nutterburger with mexican street corn. The burger was a solid 5 out of 10. It was dry and I ordered it medium. the corn was bland, not like any Mexican street corn I've had before. My son got pick 4 appetizers. onion rings; which were cold. The chicken tenders were overcooked and dry. The chili cheese fries were super soggy not even crunchy. The jalapeño poppers were not fully cooked and the bacon tasted burnt. The sauce was supposed to be Thai chili seemed like something sweet. We were asked how stuff was as we barely tasted anything. She came to see if we were done and asked if we wanted a box and I asked for the bill right away. She came back with both at the same time after 10 minutes of talking to a lady at the waitress station. I gave her $50 and my bill was $38 and she asked if I wanted change. Now there were only 2 other tables eating when we came in. Our waitress was nice, she smiled, was friendly but didn't seem like the customer was the priority. She at one point was even showing photos on her phone or whatever to the other worker at the waitress station. My dining experience was at best a 2. I am very disappointed to the point of writing this as a courtesy in hopes that it'll get better for others. I still left my waitress $6 even though. I have reservations about eating there again after...

Our first experience was Saturday morning breakfast as hotel guest. We were given vouchers from the hotel arrived at 730 for breakfast and we ordered off the menu since the buffet was not offered. Ordered about 10 minutes after getting drinks since waitress was busy. After waiting 45 minutes was able to flag down waitress to ask about food, she said it would be out soon. We overheard other tables say they waited over an hour for food. We needed to get a child to a sports tournament at 900 and it was now 840 and did not have food, we left without getting our food. Saturday night a group of us went over to have drinks and play pool at 1100 pm. No sign on the door that they would be closing early due to daylight savings and no mention that the kitchen closes at a different time then the bar anywhere on menus or website. We start playing pool and go to bar and order a drink. Order my drink a salted carmel Appleton, go to pay the $9.50 for drink with a $50 the bartender cheats me on the change by $10. Got her attention and let her know she cheated me on the change and she gives me the $10 back with no apology. We want to order some cheese sticks and are told the kitchen is closed. The place needs to have better advertising and sinage that kitchen hours are different and the hours are different that day due to the time change. We were confused by last call at 1:00 when stated closing time on the website was 2:30. Sunday morning breakfast was the buffet which was not stocked when we got there all the food was out. We sat back down to wait for them to be refilled. Once refilled they were once again emptied really fast by the first 6 people in line. According to the hotel the restaurant was aware of the hotel being at capacity and to prepare for a lot of people at breakfast each day. This was not the case. Overall was disappointed in the food and service with all 3 visits in one weekend to this...
