I don’t know if it’s because I’m covered in tattoos or if it’s because I didn’t hear the girl whispering behind the counter after we just walked in and hadn’t eve read the menu yet, I was given a look of disgust from that point on as my son pointed out, I ordered for us. I don’t tip up front for obvious reasons(I had $15 in cash I was going to tip, as I expected decent service) we paid, sat down and a waitress got us water, no straws which I thought was weird but I didn’t want to say anything, then my son asked me why every single person had straws in their glasses and everyone who came in after us got straws, still not a big deal, but we got our food and no napkins in a pizzeria…..had to ask for napkins, the sandwich I ordered didn’t even have the amount of meat you would receive on one slice of pizza, I’m not joking. It was my son who pointed out how the girl at the counter was treating me like I was an asshole because I’m hard of hearing and she was not speaking up in a loud setting, then also pointed out my sandwich had barely enough meat to be a sandwich. I mean they put the maximum effort in not putting any meat on the Italian blah blah. So I told my son, we’ll know when we leave if they had some issue with us…..we watched EVERYONE who left get a “have a good day” EVERYONE, we left and got ignored, as if we were never there, mind you we are from Harrah, quite the drive for a skimp meal and some kind of prejudice. My son’s calzone was good, I will give credit there, my sandwich was bread, melted cheese, and 3 small half slices of meat on each half. Firehouse subs would have given 10x’s the meat for $3 more. Anyways, my impression of Ardmore and this restaurant in particular is pretty much crap as it is not the city I used to go visit 20yrs ago. Mind you we’ve been traveling the state for two months now on the weekends from Keystone Lake area, Stroud, Ada, McAlester, Broken Bow, Union City, Sulphur, Ponca City on all the state highways and have nothing but pleasant experiences when it comes to wherever we eat, this was the first below average and almost offensive stop we’ve made. I’ve managed restaurants before for many years and never assumed anyone knew my menu and tried to assess if the customer needed a moment, not just jump into what do you want and get irritated because they didn’t hear me, I’ve never done that because I understand the customer is paying my wage through their purchase. No customers no paycheck, but hey, I guess as long as you kiss your regulars asses it’s all good and you’ll continue to be fine, to hell with us out of towners. I don’t know what the problem was but there was a problem. Live too far away to go back and won’t go back. Should have photo bombed that sandwich but I’m old school and don’t think that way. I wish for your success with better wait staff...
Read moreWe Headed back home to Edmond from visiting family in Texas. I was driving down the road and googled pizza near me. I am not a fan of Pizza Hut and Dominos. I like to try mom and pop places. So when I googled this place I could tell it was a place that I like to try. When inside I asked if they made their own dough, was told they do. The lady at the front was very nice and she let me know that they had been open 25 years or so. We tried a Margarita and a supreme. My wife and I got small pizzas and two drinks. It was only $25.00! I can’t even go to whataburger for $25.00! Lolol. Staff was all nice. One tv was off in the place. Lots of room and even a little outdoor section that is where we sat! Such a nice night for it. Pizza came out pretty quick. The pizza had really good flavor. Seems like they use a nice cheese quality and sauce was good. Wasn’t really sweet or really tangy. So it was a nice blend. I would recommend this place for anyone. I will just add that we like our pizza crispy, and that was the only thing that was lacking. The flavor of the dough was great though. Not going to take any stars...
Read moreMy go-to pizza joint. One of the best pizza places in town. The only other pizzarias in Ardmore that I've enjoyed more also charge double the price. Its best to go during their buffet hours because it is excellent. My favorite is their margarita pizza because they put the sweetest tomatos I have ever tasted on it. Their wings are delicious and flavorful, but I wish they could add more heat to them (they can't). My main complaint is they have discontinued a few of my favorite items. I was very disappointed when they took away their iced herbal teas, though they still have twinnings hot tea that Ive sense switched too. They also took away their spring mix lettuce on the salad bar. Romain is the only option now, and sense then I don't come in nearly as often. I do still come in though, because pizza is everybody's favorite food and this is the best...
