I've been to four locations now and in some cases multiple times (Goodyear and Surprise) and I will not be going back to this one. It was just a bizarre experience all around compared to the others and also similar style "craberries" like Joe's for instance. First off, it was weird being served in paper cups and paper dish (edamame). For all their love of paper - this was the only location I've seen that doesn't have a paper towel roll at the table - it's kind of a necessity for messy eating like this. Instead they had a regular napkin dispenser which, as you can imagine, was disgusting looking from previous drippy hands trying to pull extra napkins out. The women's bathroom was dirty to the point my wife wouldn't go in after our guest described her experience in there. I do give them props for having a hand washing station outside the restroom though. We ordered edamame for the appetizer and it was literally half the portion you see at their other locations and it too was served on just this tiny paper boat. I did order a side of grits that was also served in the same weird paper boat that was soggy and started falling apart since grits aren't dry. Utensils were plastic because they didn't have any cleaned up at the moment and, I kid you not, they did not have crab crackers! We were instead provided these infuriatingly dull scissors that did not even line up when closing and could not cut through the thicker claws at all (had to carefully press shell against edge of table to get the job done). Oh, and the food itself. The snow crab came in a separate bag and was cold. Literally cold. The other bag which had the queen crab, potatoes, mussels and shrimp was kinda warm? The queen crab had definite cold spots in it though - clearly the food was not cooked long enough or their temp wasn't high enough. Service was average. It wasn't crazy busy or anything. We had to wait awhile to get water refills on a few occasions and nobody stopped by to ask how it was. I will not be going back to this location. We had just dined at the Surprise location the month before and it was fantastic as usual. We'll stick to that spot instead when we want to "shell" out a couple...
Read moreIf I would have written this review shortly after the location opened I would have handed it four stars - easily. I say four stars because five stars is one of those things that only time can provide. Is the quality consistent and consistently great? Then that is a five star experience. Let's just say that this location is going down hill - and down hill fast. My latest experience - I ordered online and specifically asked on the order that it be prepped for a 745PM pick up time. A request that was clearly printed on the top of the receipt I received and has never been an issue prior. I've ordered ahead many times with no problems. Shortly after 7PM, I received confirmation that my order was ready to be picked up. I immediately called the location and specified that I had requested a 745PM pick up time - to which the response was that the request didn't show on the order. I mentioned how odd that was because, again, it was printed very clearly on my receipt with both "please" and "thank you" included as just good manners. I let the person know that I specified a time because I was still en route to the location and would not be there until around the time I originally requested. I was informed by the young woman that things would be taken care of. Apparently, "taken care of" means set aside for almost an hour because when I got it home that's exactly what it obviously was. The gumbo was cold and congealed into one solid unit, both angry baskets (catfish and fried shrimp) had also become lukewarm at best with nearly everything sticking together. The onion rings were flimsy, cold, and soggy. The items that were actually supposed to be cold - the sides of ranch and cole slaw - were not cold. I was initially excited about having some good quality Cajun food in the area when Angry Crab opened this location, and again, when they first opened I would have said they knocked it out of the park. Now, sadly, it seems the honeymoon is over and I may as well go across the...
Read moreMy partner and I came here on August 24th 2024, a Saturday evening for dinner. The parking lot is massive so we were able to easily find a spot to park right by the restaurant. We only had to wait about 3 minutes to be seated at a booth.
I'm a plus size individual (24w) and the booth had plenty of space on both sides. It was comfortable getting in and out of the booth, and I didn't feel squished.
We ordered a few things: the Bucket of Bicardi, an 805, Pepsi, the calamari appetizer, and the Boil for Two with an additional half pound of scallops.
Bucket of Bicardi was delicious. It had citrus and came with a cherry and orange slices. It's massive, so it may be best as a shared drink.
My partner had the 805 and he said it was "cool, refreshing, crisp, tasty!"
The calamari appetizer was delicious. There was a big serving size. They came with a lemon wedge and a wee cup of marinara sauce. The texture was crunchy and the squid was not rubbery at all.
We ordered the Boil for Two with additional scallops which came with: 2 cobs of corn, red potatoes, sausage, 2 lobster tails, king crab, snow crab, shrimp, and scallops. We ordered ours with just a traditional boiling and at a spice level of 1 (because we are both weenies about spice). It was so delicious! And filling! We are both concerned that there might not be enough food for the price, but it was just the perfect amount! You do need to crack the crab and lobster, and remove the shells from the shrimp.
The Boil For Two was presented in it's boil bag, along side a bucket for your trash, paper plates, large gloves, nutcrackers, "zippers", and forks. So you have all the tools you'll need to open up the shells with ease.
Our server, Alicia, was very attentive and pleasant. She was very helpful on helping us make decisions and providing us with beverage refills in a timely manner!
We had an excellent time at this restaurant and look forward to making this a regular dinner spot...
