We have been to this restaurant in San Tan Valley many times, but the quality of service and food has diminished over time. Tonight, we ordered food for our family and for our friends who are visiting from out of state. All our friends wanted was a Sonoran hotdog because they had ordered them in the past when they were visiting. The rest of our crew ordered other entrees. The order was placed over the phone, and my husband and our friend drove 20 minutes to pick up the order. When they arrived, they were told that the order wasn’t ready yet. So, they waited patiently for a while and were told the food was being bagged up. Several minutes later, the food still hadn’t come out. When it finally arrived, our friend checked the receipt and the bag, and although he thought it felt light, he assumed that the order was complete based on the number of containers in the bag. After driving 20 minutes to get home, we discovered that the four Sonoran hotdogs were not in the bag. My husband called the restaurant, and the person who answered the phone said, “Oh yeah, they are sitting right here. They’re still warm.” Not exactly the customer service that one would expect. Then the person asked if my husband was going to come back to get them. My husband said he wasn’t coming back but he wanted to speak to the manager. When she got on the phone, she offered store credit. He did not want that, either. Then, when my husband asked for his credit card to be refunded for the food that wasn’t received, the manager said she couldn’t find his receipt, and said he would need to bring it in to be refunded. Again, not exactly what one would expect when speaking to the manager of a restaurant that royally messed up an order. The quality of the other ordered food was not good. We aren’t sure what is happening at this location, but we will not be returning to waste our time or money only to receive poor service and mediocre food. It’s very disappointing because we have a lot of visitors throughout the year, and we’ve always taken them to Moreno’s. That will not...
Read moreI grew up and graduated out in San Tan Valley, and this was my first job as a waitress when I was 16 years old- almost 15 years ago! I find myself every so often looking up Morenos to see if there are any new locations closer to the West Valley since I’ve moved way further out towards Surprise now…. Reason being is that I crave and still can taste the deliciousness from my time working with them back then and it is THE BEST hands down!! There is so many great choices it would definitely be hard to get all your cravings out of this place in one sitting! The crispy tacos are so good, the bean dip that comes with the chips is amazing and not like anything I’ve tasted as far as the perfect consistency goes. The Sonoran hot dog is unique and very tasty a must try for sure! My absolute favorite was the chicken fajita burrito - so juicy and creamy- my mouth is watering now! I also loved their mini chimis; which was really good with every possible sauce you could put with it. Their sour cream, their guacamole, and don’t get me started on their cream cheese dip! Soooo yummy!! They have huge Super Nachos with all the fixings and I also recommend trying their spinach cheese sauce on anything and everything because it goes great on anything and everything!! I love this restaurant so much; besides the food being able to speak for itself- the restaurant is small and intimate here. There is a very welcoming vibe and ambience and if you have the pleasure of being served you will never forget the wonderful service you receive from long tenured employees like Myrna, or even the owners themselves like Martina and her husband or even their daughters at times!
10/10 recommend! If you are looking for a place to eat and craving Mexican this is the place to go! ❤️ (I know this review is out of the blue, but was just thinking of you guys and because I could taste the cuisine through the photos I just had...
Read more(People, read the negative reviews, management is bad) I used to really like Moreno's Mexican Grill in San Tan... until yesterday. when the manager kicked us out (6 years loyal customers) and smirked with sarcasm as we left. Wife, child and I were there yesterday. Since my son doesn't eat there, he had a small bag of potato wedges and a tiny container of green beans from KFC with him (you know, those really small ones). We all ordered our drinks (including my kid), and as we were waiting for them to take our food order, the manager came over and as loud as everyone in the restaurant could hear told us we had to leave because we were not allowed with outside food... What!?? My kid got teary eyed (he felt guilty), and my wife tried to explain that he was not eating there but had ordered a drink and we were eating there, but she interrupted rudely and said "honey... I have to enforce the rules!". We got up from the table and my wife told her "you know, we have been coming weekly here for 6 years, and the staff even knows our orders and how we order (it's true), but after this we might not come back, and her response, with a smirk, was "well honey... don't you worry as soon as you leave more customers will come". I cannot believe anyone will treat a customer like that!!!. My son was very sad and my wife as well, we felt so humiliated! We have been one of their most loyal customers, and to her, we were just as disposable as the next customer. I am sharing this because I would NEVER treat a customer that way, especially a kid! I don't bash on people or businesses, I love supporting local businesses and I always like to tip generously, give great reviews and never complain, yet, I feel like if I don't say anything, this lady will not realize that is not the way to treat a customer, let alone one that has been a spokesperson for your restaurant....
