I gave this place 3 trys before writing this review. This place needs to recreate their bread recipes. The famously know "bolillo" or French Bread is made the same way all other sweet breads are made, you can identify by the texture, taste, and smell. The traditional Mexican concha lacks in softness, taste, and design of sugar texture. The service is equally as bad. When I first walked in, I was lost and couldnt find the tray and tongs, the employees looked at me without helping, as if they didint know what everyone grabs when they walk in. All their windows where the bread goes is always empty and the fresh bread is stacked in the back (this was prior Covid 19 precautions too). The ladies checking you out have this upset demeanor and rudness to their face and body language. I believe it gets customers because of the location and many not knowing what good bread is. No comments on the cakes, never tried them. Confused on the high ratings. Try La Tapatia bread in Grand Prairie. And you will notice the...
Read moreI could rate this higher if it weren't by the unprofessionalism of one of the employees. I just wanted to point something out. Hopefully the manager or the owner sees it. I went to buy pan dulce. I was looking at other pastries when a lady and a young teenager grabbed a tray to get her bread. The lady ACCIDENTALLY dropped 2 conchas on the floor. That lady realized what she dropped them on the floor. Proceeded to pick them up and instead of putting them with the rest of the bread (as many other people have done at this location), put them on another tray away from the bread. There were other families around buying pastries. One of the employees ( i wont mention her name) came to talk to the lady about the bread that was dropped. The way she talked to that lady was unbecoming of a profesional employee. Instead of asking about it she went off on her blaming her of putting the bread back. Which it didnt happen. Probably will go buy pan dulce at...
Read moreIf you’re craving authentic Mexican pastries, Panadería ANAKAREN is a must-visit. The moment you walk in, you're welcomed by the sweet, comforting scent of fresh pan dulce and the sight of trays overflowing with colorful conchas, empanadas, and crumbly polvorones.
The conchas are a standout—soft, airy, and topped with just the right amount of sweet crust. They come in traditional flavors like vanilla and chocolate, and they’re always fresh. The empanadas, especially the ones filled with CAJETA are beautifully flaky with generous filling. And the polvorones (Mexican shortbread cookies) melt in your mouth—rich, buttery, and perfectly balanced.
Service is fast and friendly, and prices are more than fair. Whether you're picking up a dozen for the family or grabbing a treat with your morning coffee, this bakery delivers traditional flavor with heart.
