I’m still in absolute shock that there wasn’t a line wrapping around the building because the food here is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced! This was genuinely one of the best culinary adventures since I moved to the DMV area over a year ago.
My boyfriend and I had been scrolling through TikTok and stumbled upon rave reviews, so we decided to check it out yesterday. To our surprise, it wasn’t overly busy, which blew our minds! But the real jaw-dropper was walking through the doors and being greeted by Chef Keshaun Winston himself! The restaurant was impeccably clean, and there were convenient kiosks for placing orders. The vibe was cozy and welcoming, with just the right amount of seating for a delightful dine-in experience.
The service was top-notch! Chef Keshaun took the time to walk us through the menu and share his specialties, and we couldn’t wait to dig in! We decided to go big and ordered the famous Cherrydale brisket burger, lemon pepper and honey jerk wings, along with cajun fries and twister fries. Let me tell you, everything was absolutely phenomenal! We’ve been on a quest for great wings since moving here, and this place is truly a hidden gem. The honey jerk wings had the perfect kick, but those lemon pepper wings? They have a secret twist I can’t even put into words. I’m from ATL, and we know our lemon pepper wings, but this—this was a whole different level! I didn't even need to touch the ranch sauce; these wings are pure perfection as is. They look unassuming without much seasoning, but the moment you take a bite, your taste buds will thank you!
You can’t go wrong with any of the fries, but the twister fries stole my heart. Paired with the BBJ herbed mayo sauce, they are utterly irresistible! And now, let’s talk about the Cherrydale brisket burger—oh my goodness! You HAVE to order it just as it comes; it’s hands down the best burger I’ve ever had in my life! The explosion of flavors is something you simply can’t miss!
Please, do yourself a favor and visit Chef Winston and his incredible team! Trust me—you'll be so...
Read moreIm going to break down my experience into each individual element. My order was Billy's El Loco and twister fries.
The burger patty itself was the star of the show. The flavor that it had was outstanding. I got the additional patty and would have regretted it, if I hadn't. Whatever blend of spices he is using is working because as stated the flavor was next level.
The bun was a standard brioche bun, no complaints there. The bun absorbed the Jalapeño ranch, pico, and juices of the burger giving you a delicious bite every single time without getting overly soggy. The condiments were fresh and crisp and it definitely led to a better final product.
The twisted fries were good but nothing I would overly praise like I did for the burger. They are beer battered and in my opinion this helped the fries tremendously. I'm not overly fond of potato wedges to begin with so having the batter added a texture and flavor to balance out the starchiness of the spiral wedges.
The owner gave me a small bit of his homemade bbq sauce to try and I did not like it. To my knowledge most bbq sauces are sweetened 3 ways, honey, brown sugar, and/or molasses. This sauce is very molasses forward which gives it a very sweet flavor. Sweet isn't my cup of tea but with that said I would struggle to find any fault with that sauce minus it doesn't suit my preferences.
I had the pleasure of sharing my dining experience with the owner, I came in around noon and those who were in there left shortly after I received my food. He told me that everything is locally sourced and the only things in the restaurant that is frozen are the fries and the onion rings (this is a...
Read moreSo I'm scrolling through my phone trying to figure out where to go for lunch and I come across a picture of this beautiful burger. I'm like bet, that's where I'm going that looks tasty. Pull up at the the burger joint and the owner Keshaun greets me. Very friendly, and let me know this is about to be my favorite burger joint. I'm like ok, ok lemme see. At first I'm just looking around the place is nice. Upgraded kiosk for ordering, even heated food cubbies for ordering pickup. I'm looking at the sandwiches and burgers and I'm like damn, I really want to try them all. They look sooo good. I wound up getting the honey heat, candied bacon, and jalapeño sandwich. I was gonna take it to go but I took a bite, and the flavors hit me. The balance of the flavors was hittin', hard😋. I sat my butt down a finished my sandwich. Best spicy chicken sandwich I've ever had, and the fries were on point i had to get 2 different types. I called my coworker and told him skip the five guys come here! While waiting on my coworker to pull up chatting with the owner. I was blown away by his story. This guy has came a long way and does his Thang in the kitchen let me tell you!! Was a chef for obama and everything💪🏾. My coworker pulls up and gets a burger. He took a few bites and I'm like "how is it?" Buddy hit me with the "mmhm" nodding his head like "man leave me alone for a min while I enjoy this"🤣. Come check him out. You won't regret it. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked food, nice balanced flaovers, and great conversation. He was right. My favorite burger joint now for sure! I've got to try the whole menu now. Everything looks so good. Worth...
