Amazing experience. I honestly went in thinking that it was going to be a gimmicky experience with okay coffee, but I was proven wrong. It was a wonderful experience from service to atmosphere to taste. **as a side note, you can ask for decaf.
Parking: there are a lot of paid parking garages in the area. I believe there is a garage in the same building as Gute Lute but I ended up parking a in the first garage I saw, just a block away lol.
Atmosphere: The interior has a very clean and modern design. It was a lot larger than I expected. A lot of seating and tables available. It was very quiet and not busy when I visited. Great for going in to get some work done quietly. The omakase is offered at the bar seating area.
Service: Our server was very kind. She was patient and attentive. Gave us plenty of opportunities to take pictures of each drink. She informed us of what blend of beans were used for their espressos and gave us an explanation of each drink as she brought them out. Service was not rushed, we had plenty of time to enjoy our drinks while chatting.
Drinks: We were started off with a single shot of espresso and then we had the choice of either their Signature Course (3 espresso base drinks + 1 non-espresso "dessert" drink) or the Special Course (rotating seasonal menu with 5 drinks) We got the Signature Course. Every drink was SO GOOD. Our favorites were the Pine Cone and OH-A. I was not expecting to be surprised by flavors of the drinks but I was pleasantly surprised and impressed each time. Im not going to give much detail of the flavors of the drinks because I feel like it is a part of the experience of having each drink explained to you.
I will definitely be coming back to try other drinks and/or the Specialty Course. I will probably get decaf next time I try the omakase. Not surprising at all but you will be wired after, I...
Read moreGute Leute feels like a warm hug on a chilly day—a café that delivers both charm and culinary excellence. My recent visit left me savoring every detail of their offerings, from their artfully crafted beverages to their irresistible desserts.
The hot chocolate was nothing short of perfection. Served in an elegant cup, it featured a delicate layer of caramelized sugar on top, lending a satisfying crunch to each sip. The silky chocolate beneath was rich yet balanced, neither too sweet nor too heavy. Adding to the experience was the stunning latte art—a whimsical touch that showcased the barista's skill and dedication to presentation.
But the real star of the visit was their tres leches cake. Light as air, this dessert was a masterclass in balance. The sponge soaked up just the right amount of milk, achieving a texture that was moist but not overly saturated. Each bite melted on the tongue, delivering a harmonious sweetness that never felt cloying. It’s the kind of dessert that lingers in your memory long after the plate is empty.
Beyond the food, Gute Leute exudes a cozy atmosphere with a contemporary twist. The inviting space encourages you to linger, whether you’re catching up with friends or savoring a moment of solitude.
Gute Leute translates to “Good People,” and it’s clear this café lives up to its name in both service and craft. If you’re seeking a place to indulge in comfort and quality, this is it. The hot chocolate and tres leches cake alone are worth the visit—just be prepared to...
Read moreI’ve never had coffee quite like this - all the flavor profiles of the oh a and the gute leute were really balanced - definitely sweet but not like Frappuccino gross sweet. It was well done and the oh a coffee actually has a few taste experiences within the same drink according to the barista. Probably the best coffee place for a signature drink that I’ve had! 10/10
The roobois iced tea was a drink that grew on me and had a really nice mix of flavors and textures. Very refreshing since it was a bit toasty inside.
As beautiful as it is inside and lots of natural light, the actual space is lacking in terms of seating. Honestly was irking that people people were a little bit pushy to get a table and not asking if someone was waiting for one prior and there were some people hanging out without drinks at tables to study - which is fine, but when it’s a busy day it’s a little bit 😶 definitely a social cafe/third space on weekends. It was a bit of a vibe killer seeing so many people standing awkwardly with nowhere to sit (hard because they give the drinks in actual dishes).
I think they could add a few more tables and outdoor seating when weather is nice. Overall, it is a great cafe and I’ll recommend it to my friends, but maybe it has a better ambiance...
