Ordered bow tie pasta with meat sauce and to be "layered" (vs mixed in). Meat sauce tasted good, pasta was overcooked to the point of mush. Worse, it was cold.
Took to counter: How it is possible that pasta can be both overcooked and cold when it was just made? Handed them a pc to feel that it was refrigerator cold. Answer: it's not freshly made; it's all premade. They just heat up. Offered to remake.
OK but I don't want bow tie pasta. If the pasta is overcooked when cold (before microwaving?) I don't want hot mush instead of cold mush. How's your fettucine noodles? A: they're great.
5 min later, I get hot mushy fettucine pasta. Better than cold mushy pasta but now there's something wrong with the meat sauce. It's EXTREMELY SALTY. I can't eat anything that salty (that much sodium is bad for your health anyway) so I don't eat it. Wife does not want me to return a second time or to complain so I don't. So I'm going to not have lunch and I'm going to pay for an inedible meal.
Manager comes by when everyone is done eating. Asked how I liked the remade pasta. I complimented him that they got the pasta hot this time - that's good - but I couldn't eat it. The meat sauce was way too salty. He told me it couldn't be since they didn't add salt to the premade sauce.
Since the first sauce was fine, I can only guess that the salt in the premade sauce didn't get mixed all the way in, resulting in a section of the sauce that had a bunch of unmixed salt.
Adding insult to injury, business must be hurting for money. Mgr didn't care that I couldn't eat their meal. Didn't offer to remove that charge from bill or remake.
I don't care about the $ but I have to say, this was the worse pasta I've had in my like... and I eat pasta probably once a week for 40 yrs … mostly home-cooked but ate in restaurants daily for 30 yrs.
Nice friendly employees. Awful pasta. Poor customer service.
I do not recommend. I've never given one star to a restaurant before but this one deserves it. There's dozens of better restaurants. This one will be out of business...

They offered two kiosks for ordering on the wall to the left of the entry. There is what appears to be a corral to guide you to the front of the restaurant to order from an employee, but there were boxes blocking the path. I’m assuming that’s there intentionally to block you from going that way? The venue appeared slightly unkept in the dining area, which attribute to pandemic response. The fountain drink station was still self-serve and the employee working was not wearing any PPE.
I opted for the kiosk ordering method, which made me wonder if they offer an app to order from as well. Since I was there, I decided to give it a try. Mid-way through, the pasta I was ordering seemed to be a bit much so I cancelled it out and decided to go with a “fan fave.” The food was not what I was hoping for, I’d say a step below Olive Garden. My Cajun Chicken Alfredo was overly salty but had the perfect amount of Alfredo sauce. The chicken was bland and tasted as though it was boiled without seasoning, I believe I heard a microwave beep as it was being prepared? I also ordered a Ceasar side salad, which did not come with dressing. I backed out of that order as well because I was thinking the $1.00 for dressing meant it was extra, but the dressing is a required selection. I didn’t really get why they had a $3 salad with a required $1 dressing. Why not just make it a $4 Ceasar salad?
The gentleman working was very nice, welcomed me into the store and let me know when he was working on my order. They were not busy at all when I came in around 6pm, but he appeared to be working by himself. From greeting to “come back and see us,” the process took about 10 minutes, which was great!
All in all, I would give this place another try because I enjoy pasta. I just felt like the quality was not where it needed to be at the price point...
Read moreFor a fast food joint across from Arlington High School, PastaMasta is an excellent place to quench your pasta craving and while enjoying my lunch I noticed it is popular with the high school students as least three tables were filled by students during their lunch period. It decor might have some people thinking the place is still being fixed up or they ran out of money because the ceiling is criss crossed with pipes of all kinds. Well they are not still working on it and no they did not run out of money. It is simply part of the uniqueness of PastaMasta. Andi think it adds to the overall flavor of the place. Now for the food itself. You basically "build your own creations" they have several types of pasta that you choose the kind you like first, then you choose a sauce, a meat, and add ones or add ins and finally a drizzle of Glover if you so desire. I choose the bow tie pasta with Alfredo Sauce and shrimp. With grilled onion, red and green bell pepper and roasted garlic as my very first dish to try here. It was cooked to perfection and very very reasonably priced. My compliments to the chef on creating a pasta dish that not only rivals other more expensive restaurants but far out classes the competition.
If it's pasta you're craving you can not go wrong with PastaMasta as your go to...
