Before leaving this review I wanted to share that the hotel itself is quite nice. However, there are things that I feel need to be addressed.
The hotel is very new and is still being built. Because of this there is construction all day every day. Luckily it stops at night. But it started as early as 7 am. Be prepared.
We rented a hybrid car that needed to be plugged in to use the electric feature. Only one night of our stay we were able to plug in our car. Every other day there were non electric cars parked in the electric car only spot. I feel bad for people who are staying at this hotel who are driving electric cars. If you were hoping to charge your car here especially on a weekend best of luck. Additionally, only 2/4 plug-ins work. I’m not sure if the hotel is working to fix that or not.
I’m from the north and I’m not used to the Texas heat. Normally we keep our hotel rooms around 70F. The room was up to 75f when we arrived with high humidity making it feel even warmer. The room has motion sensors that detect movement. I believe they are attached to the AC to sense if people are in the room or not. Before sleep every night we would set it to 70. Within about 2 hours of sleeping or so the HEAT would kick on bringing to room back up to 75. Making it difficult to sleep. I’d wake up every 2 hours or so or periodically shake my hand or shake my foot so the motion sensors wouldn’t shut off the AC. In the 4 days we stayed here I could not figure out a way to disable to this feature.
Besides this again the hotel was quite nice. I have many food allergies so a kitchen is a need when we travel. The kitchen room we stayed in was very nice besides these other...
Read moreMy husband and I stated just to get away for the weekend and we loved it! Perfect area we know Grand Prairie well. The staff were all attentive and polite greeted us before we greeted them. Room was FLAWLESS it’s like a studio apartment. Full kitchen and dinning table dishes provided it was so convenient and felt relaxing and homely to have that catering and cooking option. Bar and restaurant were available in the lobby loved those options although I didn’t use either we went out for food and drinks. Around the hotel they have plenty of food and entertainment options )Mexican, BBQ, The Finch) and it was clean. Noise was minimal you while in your room. Plenty of towels. Phenomenal temp control.Everything was clean. Decor was modern. The lobby has maximum seating space to sit and lounge. We can’t wait to come back with our kids. I didn’t take pictures of our room :(
ONLY NEGATIVES: Parking was hell because of the surrounding attractions it made it so hard to park at the top or lower level and they had broken glass in a few spots. (It was a Saturday) the Elevators are HORRIBLE we where on the second floor and my husband and I just took the stairs the entire time because it’s literally a 4-7 minute wait for a elevator and it’s so many people waiting that you may have to catch the next one. I didn’t mind the stairs my back big so exercise was needed. Finally, the FREE breakfast I wish they had waffles or Pancakes good...
Read moreWe chose this hotel because it was close to the Texas Trust CU Theater, and we usually stay at a Hilton. It is in a nice area, surrounded by restaurants. I believe the parking area is shared by the restaurants and the hotel so that made parking a little tricky but there was also a parking garage. The hotel was very clean, airy, with modern decor. The lobby area was large with a great deal of natural light. The staff was friendly and helpful, making check-in quick and easy. Our room was on the 5th floor, the number of elevators meant we never had to wait more than a few seconds for one. |Our room was spotless, welcoming, and included a desk with desk chair, nice television, comfy chair, microwave, fridge, and an espresso machine with pods! Beds were so comfortable we slept well, very quiet overnight. |We only stayed one night, and we couldn’t try to restaurant but did try the free breakfast that was included in our room package. Note that other than breakfast, the restaurant hours are 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Staff in the breakfast area were so kind and helpful, the dining area was spotless and there were more than enough tables, nicely spaced. The food? Well, we had the buffet, and it was just Ok. Kept warm in those trays, nothing was "hot". They did provide fruit, yogurt, toast, bagels, and cereal. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and were very happy with our choice! I would recommend this Hilton...
