RHAAN Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Arlington

We had party of 15 to have lunch there. Food is not bad. However, the restaurant scam customers by charging 22% gratuity plus they tax us on subtotal and gratuity. They didn't tell us up front there would be 22% gratuity for a big party. When I asked the manager why the sales tax was higher than 0.825%, the gratuity was taxed too. She said that because there was credit card charge. However, when she gave us the bill, she didn't even know how we would pay for our bills. In the itemized bill, it didn't list the gratuity % and sales tax %. She admitted that she would refund the over charges, but then she made up all kinds of excuses like credit card fee, their system issues, etc, and would have to get my phone number for some refunds. Then later on she said that she didn't understand the math. Everything she said was just trying to cover up their over charging customers.

Also some of our dishes were charged $2-3 more. We brought it up to the servers, they said that their system updated the prices but their menu hasn't been updated. The manager came to solve the issues by fixing the prices. However the way she said it was like she would fix it this time but not in the future. It sounded like we were making mistake and they blamed us catching their problem.

Be aware of scams from this restaurant. Visit at your own risk. Their food is good and could make good business. However their dishonesty ruined...

Ordered through Grubhub before they opened @1100 around 1020. Requested several items 1 of which is/was the Pad Thai. Ordered the spicy vegetable with NO eggs,please! Simple enough right, wrong! Arrived to pickup order which was said to be ready by 1115 and still had to wait an additional 10min. Checked food before leaving restaurant and noticed what appeared to be eggs in the Pad Thai, SMH! Ask waitress if the order was prepared with eggs and was expressly told, "that's not eggs, that tofu! I told them not to put any in it!' Taking the waitress word for it partly because I believing she would not lie, walked out of restaurant with to go order. All this to say, WTH man, freaking eggs in my food and mouth full of dead flesh in my mouth!! Needless to say I did expect the cook to mess up the meal and should have trusted my first instinct especially after observing that it looked like eggs even in the dimly lit restaurant. Picked through the Pad Thai and threw out the rest.

Edit: Waitress called back to retify the situation as best as possible the same day less then 5hrs later. I do appreciate the gesture of hospitality to make amends for the mistake that was made. Just called today a few minutes after 5pm to make an order for take out since the restaurant has no website to order from. Hard to believe that when this is 2022 and we are deep in the advanced age of technology and just about everybody has a site to order online. Anyway my wife and I called this restaurant 3 CONSECUTIVE TIMES and my wife got a busy signal the first time. Then she waited a few minutes and called again and got the phone to ring, but it rang 10 times and not one person picked up the phone. Then she waited a few minutes again and called back and all of a sudden the phone line was busy once again!! By this time it's between 5:15pm and 5:20pm. This is ridiculous when it comes to the basic expectations of customer service 101!! I read a number of reviews about this location and really was looking forward to trying this place, but I already have a bad taste in my mouth before stepping foot in this place, because no one will even pick up a phone to take an order almost 20 minutes after you all...
