FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz •••• 🍒 WHAT THEY’RE KNOWN FOR: a Salvadoran and Mexican food spot serving pupusas, tacos, burritos, and gorditas (and WAY more). 🍒 THE VIBE: typical grab and go place. They lowkey have a lunch rush so honestly I would enjoy my meal inside of here next time especially with all the good salsas to choose from! 🍒 PRICE: ~$14 🍒 WOULD I COME BACK? Yes. •••• Overall Rating: 9/10 Ever since one of my old Salvadoran coworkers brought pupusas to work I’ve been obsessed and looking for a place to have them at. Tacusa is one of those hidden gems that have locations in Fort Worth, Hurst, & Arlington that I had no idea about! I will say these pupusas are HUGE and the ones I first had were smaller and able to carry around and eat but this one is filled with cheese and meat to the brim. This is not a light meal at all so be prepared to eat! I will even say that this one plate could feed two people. The pupusas take longer to cook so be patient with the staff. I swear it’s worth the wait! The flavor of the chicken was spicy and flavorful. The loroco pupusa is a traditional plant that is often cooked with cheese in pupusas. It reminded me of cactus! Not really much flavor from the plant but still a good texture. The salsas are so spicy but so flavorful and good. Rice and beans were packed with underlying flavors. My mouth is watering while I type this. This meal is decadent and filling so be prepared to eat if you...
Read moreFirst visit here on a Tuesday around 12/12:30. For lunchtime it wasnt too busy. The menu options looked great and priced well too. I ordered the pupusa plate with pupusas de queso y pollo and a cup of elote with an agua de horchata. The pupusas were delicious, the queso was scrumptious, maybe a little less queso and more chicken would have been better for my liking. But they were still great, and huge! 9/10 for me. The rice only needed a little more flavor and moistness, still good though, 7/10, and the beans were super flavorful, 9.5/10. The horchata was refreshing and authentic, it had that texture where its just a little bit gritty from the rice, but I prefer it that way, 9.5/10. My sister got the flauta plate. Her flautas came with chicken and cheese too, and again just a tiny bit too much cheese for our liking, but if you like more cheesy things, you’ll love these. 9/10. The elote was prepared very well, and they were NOT stingy with the toppings. It wasnt watered down with corn juice. If I had some salsa on top it wouldve made it, still its a 8/10. My sis got an agua de jamaica and she finished it, so I’ll give it a 10/10. All of this for $32. Great deal. Definitely...
Read moreHusband and I were trying to find a good place to order tacos since our previous favorite place is too far and we got food poisoning last time. So we decided to try out this place around 2pm. We both had the #4 which included 1 Pupusa, 1 Flauta, 1 street taco. The Pupusas we’re delicious! We got Chicken and they tasted fresh, were not dry. The flauta had chicken & cheese and the same thing it is was so good!!! Tacos I got were Carnitas and oh my god.. Carnitas were juicy and tasted fresh aswell. I love my meat fatty and thats how I got em! I am glad I found this place out, the wait time is long(About 25 mins) but that may be because I only saw one cook in the back. Which we didn’t have a problem with, we live just down the street and weren’t in a hurry. Highly recommend this place, and anything...
