"Friends don't let friends shop at Starbucks"
If you want real, local, FRESH coffee, that ISN'T burnt, ditch the Starbucks and support Savor.
I was going to give 3 stars because I'm a harsh critic and environmental impact is a huge factor in my ratings. (Given most businesses don't even do the bare minimum to reduce their carbon footprint or include organic whole local ingredients in their business model.)
The coffee was delicious (they NEVER let their coffee sit, instead it is brewed to order!). You have to ask for a real cup of coffee prior to brewing or they automatically give you a single-use non recyclable cup. The barista explained the reason for this is because their real coffee cups are only 16 oz, a slightly smaller size than the brew so unless requested otherwise, they automatically use the to go cups.
I ordered the tofu spring salad bowl. Although it consisted mostly of lettuce greens, the owner was behind the counter and when I requested more tofu (at first had 3 skimpy pieces) she was happy to oblige. Not sure if the food is locally grown organic but the greens tasted fresh and flavorful. I'm an organic farmer so taste is important to me.
I asked if they had silverware and an employee kindly pointed me to the single-use plastic cutlery. I was also disappointed to see the only option for the self-serve water were also single use plastic cups. The saucer dishes for my peanut sauces were single use as well.
Being THAT person, I politely suggested they offer greener options before taking my seat. The owner overheard and went out of her way to walk over and address my concerns. She told me that their dishwasher had been broken for quite some time and that they're working on fixing it and assured me that they try to be environmentally progressive as feasibly as their business can.
I can usually spot the difference between phoney customer service (that common plastic smile coupled with an obnoxiously high octave) and down-to-earth authenticity. Yes, the coffee was great, but the genuine customer care I received is very hard to come by and is truly tested when their customers challenge them. That's why I'm giving this business a 5 star rating. I'll definitely...

Customer service was wonderful from the guy who took my order, the lady who got my croissant ready, & the girl who was kind enough to grab my plate when I was done.
Multiple places to sit, benchlike seating across a few tables on one side (with pillows too) with chairs at the opposite end of the tables, some accent chairs when you first enter, additional tables inside with more seating options outside. Very cute decor as well!
I had an iced sugar free caramel latte, a strong coffee flavor which is my preference! Aside from a nice selection of drinks they also offer a variety of items to eat, I was excited to see they had a pistachio croissant & it did not disappoint! Generous with the pistachio filling inside & on top, I will definitely go back for this.
Free wifi of course, great atmosphere. It wasn't too busy when I was there but still a good amount of people. Spacious, a nice place for socializing or studying without a crazy noise level. I also noticed that all three employees took the time to wipe down tables, sweep, etc. while I was there. I was there for about 2-3 hours & that really gave me a peace of mind on their cleaning standards, very efficient. They also have a drive-thru for those who just need to pass by. Parking is a bit limited but by no fault of their own, with it not being completely full inside at the time their parking lot had limited spaces open. However, there are some shops around them so it won't hurt to get a few steps in!

Read moreReason #10000 why I love yelp: I would not have known about such a cool coffee shop or tried to go inside of this building without yelp.
From the outside, there's a tattered blank sign hanging above the coffee shop and window drawings on the outside that make one wonder what it will look like on the inside. Once in the patio, you can see the chairs, the nice decal on the door, and then upon entering, I was amazed! There were many clean tables to choose from and a very well decorated interior. I was immediately welcomed by the staff.
My horchata cold brew took less than 2 minutes and my bees knees crepe was ready in less than 5 minutes. Both were delish! They did not skimp on the filling at all. I love a generous serving!
If this wasn't a 30 minute drive for me, I would definitely come here regularly. Lots of tables to choose from without feeling crowded, friendly employees, quick and yummy treats, and quirky little aspects. Some examples of the fun quirks are a large table puzzle, art supplies for sale, a giant mailbox to enter your story or secret (see picture) and a large poster of candy glued to it.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this visit, but silly me for thinking yelp would ever lead me astray.
If I could make one suggestion for the owner, it would be to have a nice sign that reads Savor on top of the building. That would be the cherry on top (hah) of this wonderful coffee shop and eatery!
