The Frozen Parrot — Restaurant in Arnolds Park

Absolutely a must stop! Certainly for me, as I have owned parrots for years. LOL

Cute little place, clean, and the girls behind the counter were pleasant and friendly. Lots of choices, and it is pretty expensive. The ice cream is very good. I got a white chocolate raspberry gelato. Aside from not a lot of the raspberry sauce in it, it was VERY good. I had a hard time deciding. I almost bought the one called Parrot Food! :)

They also have different flavor ice cream bars to choose from where you can dip them into a sauce of different sorts, and then also dip them into toppings, like fruity pebbles, oreos, and much more! Each thing you choose adds to the cost.

I like to find good local ice cream places when traveling, and The Frozen Parrot did not disappoint! When I walked in and saw ice cream and fruit pops (also known as paletas at some Hispanic-themed restaurants), I knew that I was in the right place. Then, when I saw the case with several flavors of gelato, I wished that I could take home more treats! The chocolate Oreo paleta was very good. It hit the spot on a warm day.

We discovered this place two years ago because it is right across the street where we stay for an annual family vacation. I don't know what kind of magical voodoo happens in the kitchen to create these frozen treats, but they are the most amazing thing you will ever eat. We stay in Okoboji for a week and we go here for dessert EVERY single night!!! Please make this place a priority on your itinerary if you are staying in the vicinity.
