I would give this establishment 0 stars, three 1 star is because the food honestly is good (although for what it is..its WAY overpriced).
Atmosphere is VERY loud, so if your looking for a nice place to catch up with a friend...or general peace and quiet, dont go here.
I called in an order a few days ago... my total for 2 adults and 2 children was almost 60.00, okay..we splurged for the kids sake..
When I walked in the manager Olivia was yelling at a young female employee telling her DO NOT ANSWER THAT PHONE AGAIN IF IT RINGS... huge turn off for all your customers to hear.
An older couple walked to the counter as j was waiting and asked if they could just get their pizza to go, as they had waited an hour and it still wasn't out. Olivia offered a gift card, and the woman stated they are from out of town and wouldn't be using it, Olivia's reply sas... "you can just give it to someone you know who lives here" I stepped in and said...can't you just return her money, she did.
Second couple walks up....they are now late for the melodrama because the pizza they ordered to go was almost an hour wait..
I understand they are a busy establishment, HOWEVER... you can see into the kitchen and it was a mess..orders going out wrong...or not at all.
In the 30 minutes I watched everything going on around me, I can say that if the Olivia should NOT be in charge of a shift alone....she was flustered...scatter brained... I heard a total of 9 people say they would never be nack.
Again, food is good. But not for the price..or...
Read moreWe have consistently ordered from this restaurant every time we are in the area and tell people about it. Unfortunately, we have become increasingly more unsatisfied with each recent visit. This last visit sealed the fate and we will no longer be a patron of this establishment. We ordered an extra large vegetarian pizza, a couple of salads, and some extra sauces. When we got back to our place and started eating we both agreed it was awful, so much so we decided to return it. The pizza was soggy and tasteless, the salads were skimpy and bland and the extra sauce was like a dab of cold tomato paste. The whole thing was a disaster. Yuck. So we drive all the way back to the restaurant to return this catastrophe to be told by the manager that we could not have refund but could have a certificate to order another pizza at a later date. Noooo thanks! When we pushed the return, the manager told us she had to speak with another manager. Now a principal over monetary issue, we were told we couldn't have a refund on the salad because we ate some of it and no refund for the $1 sides of sauce! OMG. Seriously? Losing customers over $1 sides?!?! It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced. Honestly if this was properly handled, like "We are sorry you are not satisfied, here's a refund and we look forward to seeing you again soon," kind of thing, we would have definitely been back and continued to be patrons. But because of the way this was handled we are...
Read moreHere are some of the pros and cons of Klondike's I've found over my multiple visits:
PROS: Their pizza is, generally, pretty good. There are some days where it doesn't taste as fresh, but it's not like it tastes old or rotten or anything like that. Also, free refills on soda is a plus. The service is also good. Staff are friendly for the most part, and the pizza doesn't come out too slow, but during busy hours you may have to wait a bit.
CONS: The atmosphere is terrible. It's an old tradition to order some peanuts and drop the shells on the floor. Many many years ago this was fine; the restaurant just sweeped the few that were on the floor. But soon this became a really deep layer, and even some of the chair and table legs are just sunken in this disgusting layer of people's peanut shells. I don't know how this isn't a health code violation. Absolutely gross and disgusting. (Don't wear nice shoes or pants here, trust me!)
Besides the peanut-covered floor, the rest of the establishment is also sad in the atmosphere category. Ceiling is low, which gives a claustrophobic basement feel, and some of the furniture is simply worn out. Alaskan decor is nice, though.
Overall I would try to find alternative pizza shops like Palo Mesa, Mountain...
