Confections of a Rockstar — Restaurant in Asbury Park

Enjoyed there cupcakes a few yrs ago (I have visited multiple times and recommended this place too many ) just stopped in after looking up the hours this morning, but was told I couldn’t purchase anything due to the bakery supposedly closing at 4pm. The guy there ask me which one I was there for and informed me that the bakery did close at 4 PM. I told him online says a different thing , I did ask, was there anything he could do since the pastries were there but he didn’t have the code for the register. (I connected the dots that he works for the burger place in there that I’ve seen a few weeks ago ) Unfortunately, when I checked online clearly the hours were wrong because it says they close at 10 PM ( which is why I came on my way to work around 4:20 pm) it does say that the hours were updated 8 weeks ago which is incorrect. I was trying to Surprise my friend for her birthday her first birthday. ( this is her first birthday away from family and friends due to her being across the country for study abroad And I was going to call her and sing happy birthday with a treat ) but unfortunately, that plan fell through the floor since the bakery had the wrong hours and unfortunately, I also paid for parking, but that’s not too big of a deal. My experience at COAR and with owner Kimmee is very personal and specific because she is one of the most selfless humans I’ve met recently. This almost sounds like a bogus review but it is genuine and I am not exaggerating. In the few times I’ve visited, numerous customers stopped by and gave her big hugs; she always made time for everyone. You just feel the love when you’re in there. I am local and had not visited, but I needed a cake for my son since my last baker turned out to be a flop. I threw a bunch of pictures her way and she came up with a gorgeous and delicious cake. Absolutely phenomenal! My entire family was in love and, since we are all local, Kimmee has a few new regulars. I’ve definitely gained a few lbs from my visits to her storefront and can attest that it is all delicious - my husband raves about the mascarpone cookies with cannoli filling and the red velvet cupcakes are to die for! If there is one thing you should take away from this review is this: if you had to pick one local business to support, pick this one! Kimmee not only makes delicious desserts but truly cares about AP, its local scene, and her people (staff and customers). She deserves all the local (and tourist) support she gets! Thank you...

I was there 2 Saturday's ago at 9:30 pm I was aware that 10 pm is closing time but when I got there I was the only one there and then with in 4 min 7 other people showed up apparently the young lady there attending Denise was very rude and abrupt poor customer service ,I've been going to this business for 3 yrs and never was I treated like this I usually get amilitary discount as a courtesy for being a 10 year Military Veteran she told me we don't do that here ( not true), she rung me up and then I asked her if she can warm up my cinnamon bun she gave me a dirty look I replied I know you do that here cuz I request it everytime I purchased this..I then paid for my item I asked for napkins and a spoon she responded one again with a dirty look and finally I asked her for a bag to put my purchases in and she said that's 35 cents I've never been charge for a bag there but so be it ..I left without a bag cuz I wasn't going to charge it on military Mastercard.. very unpleasant experience I hope Kimmie the owner rectifies this poor excuse for customer...
