Dixie Express — Restaurant in Asheboro

I came through the drive-thru yesterday. We were the only car in the line. Our order was not repeated back to us like most fast food restaurants do, but we figured it would be okay. Once at the window, I paid with my card. We were then handed two different sized drinks (even though I ordered two smalls). About ten minutes later, the young girl at the window FINALLY handed us our food and I asked for some ranch sauce. (We had ordered onion rings and many people use ranch with onion rings). She goes, "um okay," then turns around, comes back to the window and goes "that will be 27 cents." Most places give you sauce with your onion rings, but okay, I inconveniently dug through my purse and found some change because I did not want to charge my card for just 27 cents. So she goes to get the ranch and I notice that the onion rings are not even in the bag. When she came back to the window, I alerted her to this fact, and she stares at me like a deer in the headlights and goes "uhhh. um. I didn't charge you for onion rings." And she just stands there! So I said, "well I ordered onion rings, so can you get me some?" She turns away and then comes back and says, "that will be $2.13." So at this point I have now had to pay THREE SEPARATE TIMES. Terrible customer service. Not to mention I now had to wait for onion rings after already being at the window for ten minutes. We were in the drive thru for 15 minutes and we were the ONLY car. How laughable. I also noticed on the original receipt that we were charged for a medium drink and a small drink even though I only ordered two smalls. Whatever. I was so fed up at this point. And then, to top it all off, the ranch that I had to pay EXTRA for had been watered down to the consistency of milk. It was so runny it would not even stay on the onion rings (which were very bland, at best, and not worth the wait or money). It was DISGUSTING. Editing this review due to my last 2 experiences. Well the time after my good comment I was trying to order and either the microphone wasn't working right or the woman taking the order has bad hearing or she was having a bad day or all of the above.With that said she was very rude and patronizing and disrespectful. I called the restaurant to tell of my experience and asked for the manager and come to find out it was her. She was the same on the phone as she was on the microphone when TRYING to take my order. I told her I was going to call the owner and express my bad experience. She told me she has been there for 25 years and there was no way anything would happen. Explaines why she thinks she can talk to customers any way she feels. The last experience that happen my fiance went there after I told her I was done being a patron there. The burgers were cold and burnt. She called and told them and they said they would write her info down and make it right. She went the next day against my advice and asked if she could get the burgers replaced. They said the night manager never wrote her information down GO FIGURE NO SURPRISE. Called and talk to the manager at the gas station where the owner is most of the time. The manager said she would relay this information to the owner and he would call back . Here it is 3 days later and it NEVER HAPPENED!!! I work in the food industry and never in my life never treated a customer with such disrespect and with a who cares attitude. Burger and milkshake was Awsome!!!! Girl at the window had low or no personality.I won't go anywhere else for a burger from now on. The buger is out of this world. So we went to the NC Zoo nearby and my family was STARVING and craving a good burger, but we didn’t like the prices placed at the zoo so we just ate some snacks and when we left I searched up for a burger place nearby, boom, this place comes up, my mother wanted to dine in but sadly there isn’t a dine in option but you do have the option to eat outside in some cute tables, we wanted to get home ASAP so we just ordered THIS MUCH FOOD 3 burgers An order of onion rings Mozzarella cheese sticks a bunch of fries Chicken nuggets 2 corn dogs A lot of food, ONLY FOR 36 DOLLARS! We could of paid that much at the zoo for the burgers alone! Of course the service was a little slow but they were busy and the food is freshly made, and when we got our food the presentation was beautiful, the burgers looked so appetizing, the mozzarella sticks were definitely the batter made ones (the best ones in my opinion), and the fries looked so good. The burgers were well seasoned, the fries were freshly made, the cheese sticks were amazing, and the corn dogs were CRISP. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the onion rings but that’s ok! Absolutely love this place, I would definitely drive 1 hour and 25 minutes again just...
