I ordered the jumbo hotdog, all the way. I made it a combo with unsweet tea and onion rings. The jumbo hotdog was absolutely delicious! The onion rings were tasty.
The jumbo hotdog had grilled sweet onions, which surprised me. It was really tasty on the hotdog, especially with the toasted hotdog bun. I don’t know if the jumbo hotdog normally comes with grilled onions or not, or if this was a mistake. You might want to ask if you order one for yourself. I highly recommend the grilled onions on it. (NOT grilled red onions. The sweetness from the grilled onions was perfect, I do not recommend asking them to grill red onions. They offer both, regular onions as well as red onions.)
Even with the slaw juice and the juiciness from the hotdog, my hotdog bun was not soapy wet when I ate it about 10 minutes after receiving it from the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised!
The onion rings that I ordered to pair with the hotdog or crispy on the outside with a soft onion on the inside. It was quite tasty, and the perfect amount of crunchiness. The only thing I would change in the future is to not pair the onion rings with the jumbo hotdog, since the jumbo hotdog had grilled onions. It was too much for me with the soft onion texture and flavor. Although it was absolutely delicious, I think I would pair the sweet potato fries or another side with the jumbo hotdog and savor the onion rings with something like a burger.
I also ordered a Monster Burger with no cheese, and with mayonnaise/tomato/lettuce/onions/pickles. I did not ask for red onions, but red onions were on this burger. It was a happy mistake, because, the red onions were very fresh and not too spicy/hot. They added a lot of nice flavor to the burger. The meat itself was absolutely delicious! Wonderful flavor, and cooked perfectly. Very juicy. I highly recommend the Monster Burger!
I paired the sweet potato fries with the monster burger, and completely enjoy this week potato fries. I am a sweet potato fry fan, and, quite picky and how I like them cooked. These were deep fried in fresh oil, for just the right amount of time at the right temperature. They were crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Just delicious! The full flavor of the sweet potato came through, instead of being mask by old oil. This tends to happen a lot when I order sweet potato fries from other restaurants. (You can taste the flavors from the other foods that had previously been cooked in the oil, and I couldn’t enjoy the flavor of the sweet potato itself.) I highly recommend the sweet potato fries! As a sidenote, they are waffle-shaped and not...
Read moreUpdate: Dairio contacted me and offered a gift card and apologized. The general manager called me and was very apologetic and professional. I appreciate that they took the time to reach out to me. I love their food and I will be back. (The following was my original review) We love the food at Dairio in Asheboro, but our most recent visit was not good. The manager took our order. We then waited for 15 min with no result. I asked about my order, and it was then quickly filled. We ended up waiting for over 20 min for our food. No explanation was given, no offer to make it right. Just a "Sorry about that" and move on. That's unprofessional. An offer for a refund, or an add on would be appropriate. I went back and talked to the manager. He was pleasant and apologetic. He offered at refund at that point, but the damage had been done. I told him, "We ate our food, we pay for our food. It was just unprofessional." If you have to ask for an apology, then the apology means nothing....
Read moreI'd really like to give a 5 star review based on the food and ice cream but each time I go in the staff is rude. This could be a place I would enjoy going to but the food isn't good enough to pay extra for and deal with rude staff. In the past my burger's haven't been as I've ordered, I've paid extra for toppings when the menu stated that the burger came with my choice of toppings and I've been cut off by the help rather than them excusing themselves while the customer finishes. Went in last night and ordered a twist with sprinkles; I didn't realize that they were an extra $0.49 since most stands typically include them with the cone price but on top of that; the server didn't even cover a quarter of the cone. When I brought it up to the cashier she acted like I had no right to be upset. I'll try the Archdale Location when they open but we won't be going to the Asheboro location until they get their staffing issues...
