I have only heard good reviews of The Flying Pig. So I thought I would give it a try for lunch. It was awful. It took just shy of 45 minutes for my fish sandwich to arrive. When it did come, the bun was burned. And not just burned; it was charred black on the inside. I scraped off the burn and cut through the crispy dark brown bun only to find that my fish was raw on the inside. This was not tuna. It was flounder. It was completely uncooked. I also ordered the homemade chips to go with my sandwich. Over half of them were also completely uncooked. It was as if they dropped them in the oil, counted to five, and then took them out and put them directly in my basket of food. There was wet oil dripping all over them. Absolutely none of my meal was edible. I was with two other people who ordered the same fish sandwich and theirs were okay except for the bun. One was also burned, but not as bad as mine.

A lady came out and apologized after I sent my food back. She asked me if I would like anything else and I said no. We had already been there almost an hour. She said they were busy, but that was no excuse and she didn't know what the cooks were thinking. She comped our meal as she should have and then brought out two desserts. That was very nice of her, but my appetite and attitude was shot after my experience there.

I know that restaurants have their good days and bad days and I have only heard good things about the Pig. I am not a resident of Asheboro so this will not be hard to do, but I will never go there again. There are some places that leave a bad taste in your mouth and this one beat that. I didn't even get to taste my lunch to have the bad taste left in it. If Google would let me leave 0 stars, I would, but you have to leave at least 1.
